Bio and Links
Bio Photo A big thank you to all of the volunteers out there! I am happy to share whatever information I have, and look forward to learning from others as well. I am interested in several New England family lines (Haley, Burley/Burleigh, Wells, Page, Bartlett, Nealley, Dow, Chase, Cook, McCall, Samson, etc.). I am also interested in the exploring the history and old families and deeds of Epping, NH.

Sounds fine. If you can send a request for correction, I will link to his mother and father.
Thanks

RE: Jairus Chase
No that is not Jairus' father Walter.
I did find them on the 1940s census.
Walter and Flora were 70 and 60 and Jairus was 39. They have Flora listed as Florence. They lived in Abington Montgomery PA, if you want to see it.
Jerry met his wife Mary and daughter Nancy who lived in the same town. I wonder how they met.

RE: Jairus Chase
Hi,
My Jairus is related. He is the grandson of Jairus Strong Chase Senior. I'd link them, but I don't think I can link them w/o Walter, his father in the middle somewhere. I don't know when Walter died. He was alive in the 1940 census with his wife Flora.
They are my in-laws. Jerry adopted my mother-in-law when he married her mother in about 1940 or 1941. My mother-in-law was a very young child and he is the only father she'd known.
If you need to know more, I might be able to help, but I never really did any research on this family. My mother-in-law is deceased but did talk about Jerry and what he told them her about her family. I don't have any photos of them, sorry.
Most of the info I got is from the internet and books.
BTW, that person that posted the grave did spell Jairus incorrectly. Correct is Jairus.

RE: Samuel Haley Death Certificate
I have been searching within familysearch.org

I found Sarah's document and added to her site. I will try again to find Samuel's when it isn't quite as late. I'm on the East coast ... Every once in a while I stray off to other sites.

RE: Thank you!
The first two lines are the same as the hymn by Charles Wesley

Happy soul, thy days are ended,
All thy mourning days below;
Thou, by angel guards attended,
Didst to Jesus' presence go.

Trusting in thy Savior's merit,
Thou hast seen thy Lord above,
Waiting to receive thy spirit,
Reaching out the crown of love.

For the joy He set before thee,
Thou didst bear a moment's pain,
Die, to live a life of glory,
Suffer, with thy Lord to reign.
