Hi cousin Sue,
You & I are 4th cousins... your great-great-grandfather was William D. Sikes, younger brother of my great-great-grandmother, Mary Ann Sikes Folmar. Thanks to the 1940 census, I found your father (his first name ended up being spelled differently than his father's).
I'd love to share family info with you, if you're interested. Feel free to e-mail me directly at email@example.com or reply to this message.

Guess I didn't explain it well my grandmother was your grandmothers sister. I guess that would make us distant cousins. If you have any info about your family I would love to have it. If you wouldn't mind sharing. I never met your grandmother I just saw a picture of her. And, was told her sad story as a girl about her losing her husband. Heard he fell down the well & another story was that he was digging a well & hit a gas pocket & it blew up. Either way Bonnnie was the only one there. She was left with I think 3 small sons and was affected mentally from the accident & had to be admitted to Big Springs, Tx.

I am Bonnie Bell Haley's sister ( Lula Haley Jones ) grandaughter... I would love to have any info that you have on Bonnie Bell & the Thixton family.. I had been told that Bonnie had lost her mind after her husband fell into a well.. And, she was there when he fell.. She was left a widow with children.. It was overwhelming to her.. I thought she died in the Big Spring Texas institution. But, I found a census that had her & her sons and, she had married a Thixton..There was another one of Bonnie's sister's grandaughter that found a orbituary with our grandmothers listed as her sisters.. So, we knew it was her.
