Because God knocked on the door of my home when I was very young, and asked my Grandfather to go Home with Him, and shortly thereafter, knocked again and asked my Mother to go Home, then very few years later, knocked yet again asking my Father Home, I spent a good deal of time in cemeteries. After Mother died I would go to the cemetery, sit beside her grave, and talk to her. I would drag my friends out there with me, riding our bicycles, and we'd play beside Mama. |
It served to give me a great respect for cemeteries, for the people who lay in them and for the family who visited.
I have always enjoyed kicking around graveyards, straightening stones where I could, pulling weeds, trimming grass back, reading headstones and wondering about all the people. Now, with FAG there is a reason to photograph the stones, to record the information on them along with the memories they represent.
The family names I'm researching are Wolf/Wolff/Woolf/Wolfe, Chatelain, Filler/Fuller/Fueller, Weippert, Ferdig, Holbrook, Shelledy/Shellady/Shilledeay, DeLong, Watkins, Volkmann, Bubb/Bopp, Baker, Tool and many, many others. It took a great many people to make ME!
I live near Cody, Wyoming. If anyone needs research done in this area, I'll see if I can help!

I am thrilled to report I am down to 950 memorials from 2800! Your willingness to foster has only made this possible. I apologize for the slow sending as I am reading each one that has biographies. Amazing work Dale did! Again thanks so much for stepping up to help out. I'm into the "M" surnames now so there are more on the way! Have a great weekend. Jen

I personally have never been to this cemetery so am unaware of the burials. As a volunteer, I just added the census of who is buried there. The list was incomplete of course.
My grandfather was a horse trader during the old days. He traveled Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota buying and trading horses. I guess he was an Iowa cowboy!
Happy Valentine's day to you and best wishes! :-)

|Memories 4 ever||Timothy Holbrook|
Just to let you know I cannot add Timothy to his dad memorial. You will need to contact Margaret (#47042473) she the one that can add his dad since she created his memorial and I created his dad and only can add is his Parents & Spouse. Hope this helps you.
|Templarion||RE: Jantz Family|
Greetings I'll transfer the three Jantz memorials over to you.
I am the person who took the photos and connected Marlene to Emma and John; in hindsight, I probably should NOT have made the connection. I suspect they are related, but probably not parents/child.
I do not have my original data on me as to specific locations of the photos. Looking at them, I doubt that they were right next to each other, but I'm pretty certain that they were close to each other. I can check next time I'm visiting my family if you like.
Looking at a few census records, I would wonder if she is actually either August's or Arthur's child. It appears that John was living in North Dakota between 1930 and 1940...do you know where either of those boys were during that period? The other question I'd ask is why did the family move to Faribault county Minnesota by 1950? (That's where I'm from; this cemetery is less than four miles from where I grew up.)
The other possibility I noticed is that there are many members of the Jentz family in nearby cemeteries. Could this be one of their children with the name misspelled?
Sorry for any confusion
