RE: Memorial Transfers
I'm always glad to transfer management for non-family sites.
In the future, you will want to send YOUR Find A Grave member number, as well as the numbers for the people you want to manage! I had to look up your number, then log back on to FindAGrave, find the cemetery, and look up the numbers for your loved ones!
I can see by looking at your profile that you are fairly new to Find A Grave! I'm not chewing you out, only letting you know some of the protocol's, & why some folk out there would not even respond without the above info/numbers.

Happy searching,

PS: Elizabeth & George are yours!

Kind regards,

John C S Schermerhorn/Elgin City Cemetery
Hi Mary, I entered photos for John, his wife, Caroline Brooks Schermerhorn, Elizabeth Schermerhorn Womack and her husband, Daniel Womack. I made a note in the caption of the Schermerhorn Plot photo to show you where each one is buried. I hope this helps. Thanks, Judy

I tried to get photos at Newport Cem but it is a private cem with a locked gate. I did locate a great great grandson of Capt Joe Werner. His name is Gary Werner email or

His phone# is 936 661-7490

If you will check
you will find the complete text of the book "Huntsville & Walker County Texas"
It has several pages of info on the Capt Joe Werner Family.
In addition Gary Werner says he will be more than happy to share the info he has with you.

RE: Joseph Werner
I walked that cem & listed ALL that I found. After your request I also checked Walker County Genealogy Society seperate list. There is no listing for your relatives. If they were buried there I can find no listing. I did find the following:
Newport Cem
located in the NE edge of Wlker Co Texas on the west bank of the Trinity River

Werner, Joe (Capt) Sep 15,1820 - Jan 2,1872
Werner, Martha H. Sep 27,1831 - Aug 25,1908

There are more Werners there. Go to
search the north cem approx page 116.

If you need more info you may contact me at

RE: Thanks-Haynie
I do not know the connection but on the other side of the plot the Bradshaw's are buried. I have added their photo's also.
Glad I help with your request.
