Carrie Belle Klinger
I am a Descendant of Carrie Klinger thru Nema Klinger. She married Baird Davis. Nema is my Great Grandmother. I saw the picture of Carrie and her parents Samuel and Eliza and downloaded them. Does anyone in the family have any other pictures of Carrie and/or Nema? And the age old question, does anyone have leads on who Nemas real Father is...I have ran into dead ends on this matter...

Your cousin,
Neal Brandon Davis

Emanuel Warthan
I have transferred Emanuel to you, but I'd like to share some personal information on this particular headstone with you.
My father moved down to that area of Iowa after divorcing my mother in the mid 1980s. He had extended family buried in that cemetery and one day while there, he came across Emanuel's headstone way off in the evergreens and completely hidden and nearly buried by weeds, bushes, and shrubbery. Upon seeing he was a veteran, he went to the cemetery caretaker at the time and told them it was shameful that this veteran's burial was not treated with more respect, and had them clear the area and make it part of the cemetery as a whole. Apparently Emanuel was originally buried "outside" the perimeter of the cemetery because those there at the time did not know if he was Catholic and it's a Catholic cemetery.
Anyway, my father then put an American flag there every memorial day while he was alive.
He also took the name and headstone information and went to the local library and asked them to do research. After my father passed away, I found the information the library had given him, and decided to create the memorial. I only used part of the information in the letter I had found.
My father is buried in this same cemetery now, and every time we go down to Iowa to visit the cemetery, we ALWAYS bring extra flowers and an American flag for Emanuel's headstone - in memory and in honor of my father as well as Emanuel.
PLEASE take good care of this memorial.

Lizzie Robbins Mollenkopf
Hi Walt,
Lizzie is also my aunt, my mom was Nellie Mollenkopf Burt, the daughter of Frank Mollenkopf and Nancy Pace. When I was a little girl early 1950s Aunt Lizzie lived with us for about 2-3 years in Ann Arbor, Michigan. When my mom was a little girl she spent summers with Uncle Jim and Aunt Lizzie on their farm. I don't remember if I went to Aunt Lizzie's funeral or not, I was in college by then. Would you happen to have a copy of Aunt Lizzie's obituary? I never had her actual date of passing. I know that mom and dad were at the funeral because Myron Robbins, wrote me that he had as a kid a big crush on my mom and he felt that seeing mom at Lizzie's funeral, that he probably would never see my mom again since we lived in Michigan. My mom died in 1965 and both my parents are buried at the Oaklandon Cemetery. One time I found a school book of Aunt Lizzie at our cottage in northern Michigan and that's were I found that she was from Westfield. When we retired to Florida giving up our big home in RI, I sent the book to Barb Hiatt along with some quilts that Aunt Lizzie made. Would love to hear from you. Sincerely, Ruth Burt Gaboury
