Bio and Links
Bio Photo Too Coincidental. I began a geneaology journey about a year ago during cold weather looking for something interesting to do . I began asking questions about family history,great-grandparents, and our connections to Tennessee. The library became a major source along with websites like this one . I began to discover odd coincidences in names, dates, & places. I am currently researching Civil War connections on my wifes side & mine.

RE: Cone Family
Thanks for the information, t r ... Max was a friend and fellow motorcycle club member of my husband, Jim Milford. They both were from McNairy County and both loved McNairy County. Max once arranged for the motorcycle club to ride in the Finger picnic parade. : ) ... As small as McNairy County is, there are many family connections!... Both my parents were from McNairy County. They were Moores and Stewarts with many other family connections. I love genealogy it is so interesting!

RE: Thomas Cone
Wm. and Frances Stanley Sparrow are my 3rd great-grandparents. France's father was Zachariah Stanley (buried in Dillion) and his wife Naomi Jones Stanely is buried in Whiteside County, IL.
I do have them going back to Va. Zachariah's.
Email me and let me know who you are related to Stanley family.
I am very curious. Thank you for getting in touch with me.

I am not a descendant, but came across mention of their graves there while working on my direct line. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

RE: Melton Family
T R, Sorry I didn't answer sooner but must have missed this when it first came through.

About the Cones... I haven't found any relationship to the Cones. However, Max Cone from Finger TN who lives/lived in Memphis was a very good friend of my husband. I know very little about Max's family. Max and my husband were members of the Memphis Christian Motorcycle Club. Their club rode in the Finger Picnic Parade several times. I will be happy to answer any specific questions you might have about Max if I can. Are you related to Max?

You probably already have this but the information I have on the Bishops and Meltons consists of the children of Albert Melton and Rebecca Wallace Melton, thru my connection to Rebecca Wallace. Rebecca Wallace was the daughter of Martha Caroline Stewart Wallace who was the older sister of my grandfather, Thomas McGee Stewart.
Rebecca Wallace Melton's memorial # 12532838 shows the links to her children. I would be glad to answer any specific questions you might have if I know the answer : ) but again most of what I know is on their memorials.

RE: Perkins/ Cone Family
Glad to help you! So far, I have found the names of Eva Cone, John F. Cone, Sallie Cone, Thomas F. Cone, and William C. Cone buried in Bairdstown, Greene County, GA. The cemetery is on Rt. 77, three miles north of Woodville and about 1/4 mile off the road. Eva Cone was the wife of D.S. Cone, and daughter of W.R. Jackson. In Greensboro City Cemetery called Greenview Cemetery, there is a Justice Francis H. Cone, Judge who was married to Mrs. Jane W. Cone. William Cone Jr. was in the Indian War of 1836. I also found marriage records for Ezekiel Cone, Francis Cone, James T. Cone, and Rich Cone who married Patsey Perkins. I found a Joseph King who married Elizabeth Cone...maybe our families fit together somehow! Let me know if any of these names ring bells - if so, I could copy the pages for you and mail them to you. Just let me know how I can help you shake your family tree and I will look for more Cones in GA graveyards!

RE: Perkins/ Cone Family
Good evening Mr. Cone,

In a very short research of my books, I found a John F. Cone, born Sept. 2 1846 DOD Oct. 23, 1905 who is buried in Bairdston, Greene County GA. The book I am using is "The cemeteries of Greene County Georgia" by E.H. Armor, which mentions several Cones. If you can get your hands on one in a library it is a HUGE help. Several Cones are also mentioned in "History of Greene County, Georgia" by Rice and Williams. I will try to research both books for you more in the next few days. Let me know if the John F. Cone is on the right track for you!

RE: Sweetlips cemetery

I am related to the Burkeens. It is my understanding that these folk were from the Hardin county area.
I have a little more info that I will post later as I don't have it in front of me at the moment.
Thanks for your message.
