I have been doing family history research for about 10 years now, and it has become a real passion for me. I am happy to make transfers, and feel free to use any of my photos.|

I cannot take credit for the photo. I recently bought a new computer and I'm still trying to figure out a software that will let me enter photos again. Fortunately, we have several other folks who help. I am hoping I can soon be back at it because I love doing them. In the meantime, if I can help in other ways, let me know.

You are surely welcome. The stone did not have the final "e"--I did send an edit to the manager. On these lines of stones, the names are nearly all different, other than an occasional husband/wife who were residents of Crowell Nursing home. I wondered about that, and learned that back in those days, elderly who did not have living relatives to care for them often went from state to state seeking care. For this reason, if you look at the National Archives, not only are the names different but the birth states are different for these people as well. I do think it is honoring for Crowell Home to have purchased markers for these residents who passed away while in their care.

No problem at all. Without your suggestion, I wouldn't have found the records showing her birthplace, parents' names, etc. I also linked Mary to the record you created for her mother.
Are you a relative? If so, I will happily transfer the Fryer's memorials to you to manage. I don't live in Clear Lake any more, but I do intend to make a trip there this spring to take some photos, and I will upload then if no one has beat me to it.
|Paul Rolfe||RE: Clyde Ward|
According to the cemetery book, she is buried beside the Wards. The book indicates it is not marked. We normally check anyway because we sometimes find them marked, but not updated in the book.
|Paul Rolfe||Clyde Ward|
The book shows Clyde listed as Clyde (i.e. not C. Ray) and the 4 April 1959 you show agrees with the burial book. He is buried beside Ernest, John and Patricia Ann Ward. The only Martha shown is Martha H. who died in 1920 so I did not see Martha Mason under Ward or Mason. There is an M. H. Ward but that person died in 1938 so that one is out also. There are over 40 Ward graves in the four Walnut Hill Cemeteries. The burial book is a couple of years old so if Martha died in the past 3 - 4 years she would not appear in that one.

Can you confirm a date of death? There is a Clyde Ward shown in the cemetery book but he died 4 April 1959 and there is a C. Ray Ward who died in May 1969. They are not buried in the same section. Both individuals are buried beside additional Ward family members so I may be able to determine which marker you want if you have their names. The book indicates both Clyde and C, Ray have marked graves.

I have checked all over and I was unable to find any sort of information regarding Mary's obit. If you locate it please let me know. Come Spring I will go back to the Cemetery and check Elmo's headstone for add'l info. I only live 5 minutes from there. Currently, it's under about a foot of snow. I have a notebook and I have made and entry for your request. I'll keep looking for info on Mary.
Thanks for letting me know.
ps... Not a "strange request" at all. This is all research and I love it! :)
|T Draper||RE: William Draper|
Thanks for the offer. At this point I am not sure who Florence is, If you wish to transfer that is ok, but if not that is ok to.
Know that William's wife Sarah died in 1982.
And on his death certificate no next of kin of any kind is listed. Don't know if he remarried or what. Makes me think i have to do a little more digging as it would be odd if they weren't related yet buried next to each other.

Thanks so much for taking the photo, I was afraid that there may not be a marker.
