Born and raised in Louisiana. Served in the US Army for 35 years and another four years with the US Coast Guard. Worked as an adjunct professor or staff for University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Tarleton State University, Central Texas College, Texas A&M University and Columbia University.|
Got off to a slow start with research on my family genealogy in 1974. I discovered my family knew little about our ancestors. With the advent of the Internet, my research began to take on real progress.
I'm always left with a feeling of guilt that I know so little about those that came before us. Those that lived, toiled, and died so that we might have a better life. Hopefully my research may help in some small way to repay my debt of gratitude.
Take my photos if you want them.

Are you related to Jeremiah? I'm just looking at him as a long shot, for my husband's ancestor Jeremiah "Jerry" Willson whose descendants often skipped the second "l". He wasn't in a census that I could find after 1850 in Iowa. His wife and children lived in Missouri and the story was that he had land in Denton Co TX but they couldn't get it because the courthouse burned. I did find a Jeremiah in Denton Co, right age, but definitely not him, even as a bigamist..been looking for years.

Do you know the death dather of Eula Maness. She was the wife of Elmer Maness and if they had any children? Thank you for posting flowers on their memorial pages.

In case you haven't checked it out, Find A Grave approved my picture of Hatchett Cemetery and it is now showing on the cemetery page.

Hi, Donald Patrick
I've just posted the photos you wanted of Martha and Claiborn Williams in Hatchett Cemetery in Franklin Co. TN. I just wanted to let you know that my husband maintained that cemetery from 1999 until he died in 2010 and now my son and I do it.
I will post a pic. of the cemetery, but it will probably be a couple of days before Find A Grave ok's it and puts it up.

Glad to do it.

Hi Mr. Patrick!
I just added a photo of William Bland Gray's stone from the Golden Gate National Cemetery that you put a photo request for. I was very taken about how nice and sincere your request was and, even though I was not photographing that section in the cemetery that day, I went to it anyway just to fulfill your request. Very rare that people are that sincere in what they write nowadays. Have a great evening!
