|Mr. Day||William Eli Banks|
I just wanted to relay the message I received today from the Missouri Historical Society in regard for my request for the obituary of William Eli Banks. They were unable to locate any newspaper articles for him. I have ordered probably close to 50 obituaries from this organization and I would say they find about 95% of my requests. Unfortunately not this time.
Here is their message:
Unfortunately, I was unable to find anything about William Eli Banks death. I checked the East Prairie Eagle from February 27-April 2, 1920 and the Charleston Enterprise-Courier from March 4-April 1, 1920. I also had another person double check in case I missed anything.
I did find a death certificate for a William Banks that died on the County Farm (Poor Farm) in Charleston on January 31, 1920. I checked the newspapers for the time period following his death in case this was the same man, but did not find anything about him either. Iím sorry we came up empty handed on this request."
The good news is I have found at least 5 obituaries myself for some of your other Banks family members. I'll upload this this week.

Yes, losing Wainwright for the season definitely hurts, but St. Louis is still very confident that we'll be in the playoffs again come October. We won the 2011 World Series without Waino. Still wish we had him though.
I will do my best to locate all 3 of your Banks obituaries. I actually ordered William Eli Banks obituary today from the Missouri Historical society. They are my go-to whenever I can't find an old newspaper article on my own. I have ordered at least 50 obituaries through them and they have found almost every single one. It normally takes about 1-2 weeks for them to get back to me. They then email me every related newspaper article they find. As soon as I receive William Eli Banks obituary I will share it with you immediately. I'm very curious to see it myself. In the meantime, I'll see what I can find for the other 2.

I apologize for taking so long to respond to your message you left me on ancestry.com. You and I share many common ancestors in southeast MO.
I have added many obituaries on here for some of our relatives. You mentioned in your message to me that you are looking for obituaries for some of your Banks ancestors. Just let me know which specific ones you need and I bet I can get them for you. No joke. Respond to this message with the names of your relatives (that died or were buried in state of Missouri) that you wish to see their obituary and I can likely get them for you.
I've been able to locate obituaries for the deaths of relatives as early as the late 1800's. Let me know who you're looking for. I would like to help.

Great to hear from you. I'm good. Thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you. I added the suggestions you gave me for Dolly Neill's memorial and then transferred it to you.

Thank you for the info on your aunt. I added it, but also transferred as I am not related and I feel family should be with family. You may find members to add and link.
|Jenny Garner||RE: Lillian E. Pennick (Settles)|
I got your message and I am happy to accept your offer to transfer Lillian Emmyantha Penick (Settles) to me.

No sorry I have not found her headstone. Are you related to the Bone family? And are you on ancestry?
|Joyce Petty Adams||Mary Shelbourne|
Thanks. Send anything you would like for me to include. Joyce
|Joyce Petty Adams||Mary Shelbourne|
I transferred Mary Shelbourne to you but keep Silas because I have other Shelborne families that may be related.
|Mr. Day||Clarence & Birdie Banks|
I just went ahead and transferred the two memorials to you. Some of my cousins are Skaggs so that was my interest in the grave to begin with. You're clearly actually related so they should go to you. I also just visited East Prairie again a couple of days and also found several other Banks in East Prairie Memorial Cemetery. I'll add them soon.
