RE: Deborah Babcock Moon
Asa Moon and Deborah have the same type of stone.I can't tell you what it is but it's very hard like slate. There are many stones of this type throughout Vermont. I would guess it's from Vermont becase there are a lot of stone quarries in Vermont. Deborah's stone was broken and it looks like someone tried to cement it together but the cement would'nt stick because the stone isn't porous enough. I had a 1 megapixel camera when I took the photo so the engraving's not too clear.I remember kneeling down to snap these photos and a small snake came out from between my knees.I look closer now when I go into cemeteries.

If anyone can help to identify gravestone carvers, I think Peggy can.

Thank you again and again!
Cannot begin to thank you for fulfilling, yet another, photo request. I do sincerely appreciate all you do to assist those of us who are so far away! Your photos are always wonderful.....appreciate your time, efforts and great photos. I have submitted edits for her birth date and maiden name based on the stone. Many thanks!

thank you for your work... so sad that head stones don't last.. or can't be left alone... still good to have the picture for the family records and will be a good teaching tool for the little ones just getting interested in family history. thank you again. G
