Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a resident of Somerset County, PA and started this adventure with researching genealogy for my family, this led me to searching for family members headstones to add to my research files. A posting on a forum page led me here and it was been fun surveying my local graveyards and taking pictures. Now my family thinks I'm a total nut. Oh well, here are the fruits of my labors to share with you all.

As it is labor intensive to take the time and take the pictures, make the name and info lists, and then post the pictures, I ask that you respect my photos and not steal copies of them from here. I retain all copyrights to these photos and will remove them if I find they are being used inappropriately without explicit written permission from me.

Wrong name
My name was Kathleen Marie Jones. I too, am doing research on my family history. George Kermit Jones was my father. When he married Betty Johnson, I was the second born unto them...Billy was first, then Mary Ellen, then me. My name was never Catherine but Kathleen Marie. Just thought you would like to correct the mistake.

RE: Hershberger Graveyard
You should request that the two cemeteries be combined because I added posts to the one that had the GPS coordinates and directions. Another solution is that the other entries be removed from the wrong cemetery to avoid duplicates unless you feel that it will be helpful for people searching a specific cemetery?

RE: Hershberger Graveyard
I used the GPS coordinates to locate the Hershberger Graveyard and also posted photos of the cemetery on the front screen. Some were buried in grass and sunken also. I got permission to photograph the memorials at the farm and the graves were located 500 feet past the farm buildings as stated in the description. I am sure that I was at the location given on the description and GPS location on Find A Grave. The only way I would be incorrect is if both were in error on Find A Grave. Let me know if you discover this to be a fact?

Sgt. Legg

I noticed you added some photos of Sgt. Sherman Lee Legg to his memorial on this site. I am doing some research for a project and am looking for his relatives. Do you have any relation to the sergeant?

RE: Larry Beaver
It's good to see you :). I have two trees on ancestry...I think you have seen those. We also have had Larry and Sarah and William DNA tested on 23 and me and looking for other family. We just found boxes of pictures, mostly from Glenda's side of the family, for Larry to scan.

Do you possibly have any military documents showing military service for Grandaddy Bill? I've been trying to document his service (I joined DAR on my maternal side) for the kids and can find nothing on any of the sites. I was going to write aunt Meredith to see if she had anything.

McClung Family
Thank you so much for your postings of this family and for helping others with their research. Although I have found many records on Ancestry, your postings have much value in confirming or denying dates and names on other records.

The 1900 Census shows Burdie B. McClung as a female but I now know that Burton Buchanan McClung was a male thanks to you.

You are helping more people than you will ever know and I thank you.

Thank you for posting a picture of my Great grandparents headstone. I have never before had the chance to visit the grave. Now that I know where it is I may have to make a trip. Thank you for your time in doing this. It is much appreciated.

Very grateful,
