Hodges Family Cemetery
I see that you were also looking for this cemetery to help fulfill a request. I found it using directions given in the St. Amend cemetery book published in 1960 which confirmed all 3 are buried there. The directions are " BOYD-HODGES Cemetery - North Side of Boyd's Crossroads Road (SR 1780), 0.5 miles west of Grimesland Bridge Road (SR 1565) 400 yards in the field." At Boyd's Crossroad and S. Grimesland Bridge road, there is a property with a white fence around it, the cemetery is on that property. When I went by today, I couldn't find anyone who could let me in, but I could see the fenced in cemetery on the property. I'm not in Grimeland, so if you would like to try them, I'm sure Mr. Myers would appreciate it.

John W Timberlake is buried at Cedar Grove with his wife and son George H Timberlake and his mother-in-law. I did post a photo of his gravestone.

I was able to find a marriage certificate and other documents. I cannot figure why his death certificate say New Bern Cemetery. The fact that he died in Greenville which gives a vague reference to New Bern Cemetery. I have looked at Cedar Grove and New Bern Memorial listinga at the Public Library and not found any reference to a Timberlake.

It may take more research to see if there is any othere reference in newspapers to his death or his father's death. wish you coulld provide what you know about him.

New Bern Cemetery

I'm not familar with "New Bern Cemetery". There is "New Bern National Cemetery" as far as having the name New Bern. Otherwise, there is Cedar Grove and several others, but not with New Bern in their name. Do you have an address in New Bern for the New Bern Cemetery?
