Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family research for approximately 30 years and specialize in Jackson County, Indiana. I have an extensive database and am willing to share and compare.

Surnames researched in Jackson County are primarily from Owen, Carr and Driftwood Townships.

I urge everyone to please cite sources on YOUR research; FAG, Ancestry, Rootsweb and all genealogy sites are merely guides not the end. Everyone in your file should have BLMD ---- Born, Lived, Married, Died and must have appropriate sources.

Sorry that I have to rant but with the popularity of genealogy, blatant errors will live much longer than our ancestors ever did!

Good luck to all and happy hunting!

RE: Martha Tanner
There was a George Tanner born about 1868 (1870 Census) who was the son of Jeremiah Stilwell Tanner and Martha Luck.

RE: Martha Tanner

Thank you (and that Eagle Scout) for your work at Heighten Hill. I means a great deal to me, and, I'm sure, to many others. Do you need any donations?

RE: Martha Smith Tanner Gravestone
Not to be contrary, but your name is affiliated with the photo. It doesn't show up in a search because the Burial is UNKNOWN, but I created the profile and have changed it to Heighten Hill (not Beem/Heighton Hill).

Martha's husband Thomas S Tanner is buried there, as is Jeremiah Stilwell Tanner, Thomas' brother, and Andrew J Tanner, Thomas'and Martha's youngest son. Martha and Thomas are my 3rd great grandparents through their son Samuel Wort Tanner and wife Cyrena Mooney Tanner (Brownstown Cemetery). I visted Heighten Hill cemetery in 2008, but couldn't find Martha's gravestone, and Thomas' was broken and half buried. I knew it was his as the death date was visible, and it wasn't too distant from Jeremiah's.

Thank you again,

RE: Larkin Kennedy
I felt the same way Jan. Why buried by himself?
How great you are restoring cemetery.

I think Larken Kennedy's 1/w Mary Loudermilk died before he moved to Jackson Co., IN. 2/wife Elizabeth Murphy Kennedy I belive separated or divorced from Larkin Kennedy before 1910 Federal Census in Jackson Co., IN. Larken Kennedy says he is a widower on this census. He
was at least 25 years older than Elizabeth Murphy Kennedy. Maybe age played a part?

Elizabeth Murphy Kennedy Find A Grave#23826536 buried next to her sister in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Heltonville, Lawrence Co., IN. (Another clue they
probably divorced)

I will try and look for Mary Loudermilk Kennedy.
When I went onto her maiden name
spelled Londonmilk. I think that is why researchers couldn't find this first marriage.

Use what you like in the above in his biography.

Larkin Kennedy was the brother of Catherine Kennedy Munson, Johnson of Clark Co., IN., Warren Co., Il. and Keithsburg, Mercer Co., IL. Catherine's 2/h was Lorenzo D. Johnson d. Ionia, Michigan and was married to my 2nd great grandmother Sarah A. Munson, Lathrop.

I can send you marriage dates and places if you like?
