I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and have been digging into my family's genealogy since about 2010. I still work so most of what I do is in my limited spare time. I also help my husband teach later 19th century history classes on some of the towns of the Northern Black Hills and conduct some research for those classes. I have a few times gotten carried away when curiosity pushes me to search a little into a person whose tombstone I photographed. Interesting humans.

If someone is your relative, I am happy to transfer them over to you, but if they are my relative, well...then it is a bonus to find each other!

Mistakes happen and I acknowledge my humanity. Feel free to kindly tell me where I goofed!

If I recognize a family name in a cemetery, I will take a picture. It is a hit and miss for a family connection, but still worth the time. Now that I can pull up FAG on my cell phone I try to double check first before taking a picture! Enjoy your day wherever you are and live.

Thanks for adding the info. No I am not related. Just researching pioneers of the Black Hills - SD and WY.
There is a pending edit to update his birth and death. Thanks for all you do.

Have a wonderful Fall weekend,

RE: John Shurts
Hello, Cindy: John Shurts, Joy Snow and none of these persons are related to me so please don't transfer them to me. It means so much to me to have you add these old articles & chronicle the lives of the pioneers. Thank you. Cara

I haven't used but I am going to and my sister has at some point.
My dad was the only child of John F. and Mary Elizabeth Finley and I do not know any relatives on the O'Connor side of the family.

McMahan - Old Union Lincoln

I looked today for the gave stones for the three McMahan individuals listed. There was just one stone on the burial plot. The photo of that stone in posted along with an expanded view of the location showing there are no other stones for these burials.

Read the captions of the photos to get cemetery information for these burials.

Peter Joseph Lynch
Thank you for researching Peter Lynch and finding his grave in a nearby cemetery. I finally found the information from over ten years ago that he was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, with an identical picture to the one on FindAGrave. I knew I had it, but it was years before I became a member on FindAGrave. I believe a relative told me he was on Mt. Moriah Cemetery and I created the record erroneously. I have since transferred all the relationships and deleted the record in Mt. Moriah. I sincerely appreciate your time and effort in helping me get it right! Gloria
