RE: Margaret Hickman
As messaged privately -- Margaret's mother most likely was Isabella Hickman, whose Hickman husband (Will?) is said to have died before 1840. Isabella remarried, in 1849, to Robert Anderson Lee. According to some later court documents, Isabella ("Ibby") was a daughter of Margaret McLean Hawkins and William Hawkins, and was raised alongside the children that Margaret later had with Adam Alexander Springs.

You are so welcome; the easiest one I ever did, no mosquitos, snakes or weeds.

RE: Margaret S. Smith, Goshen Cemetery
I sorry but I have not, I have not heard a thing, and I have not had much time lately as I have been tied up with my wife's medical problems. I will see if I can contact Joe Brown's family, as I believe they are also related.

RE: Margaret S. Smith, Goshen Cemetery
Thanks for the transfers. I got to thinking after I sent the email that as there was 21 years between John B and Lewis I, that there was probably be at least that much age between us. I am 68. I am glad that you started young enough to make a difference. Most people don't care for ancestry unless they can link to a "somebody". To me, all our early ancestors were "somebodies", as there are not many alive today that could live the lives our ancestors did.

Robert S. & Margaret's children were John B. of course Sarah Ann Smith Abernathy, wife of C. M. Abernethy, born 1835; James M. born 1836, Nancy Jane Smith Roper born 1838, wife of PH Roper; Robert T. born 1840; Martha born 1841; William J. born 1842; J. M. born 1844; Matthew H.born 1846; and of course your Lewis I. born 1850. As I mention Matthew is buried at Ebenezar (spelling?) Methodist Church. Feel free to transfer any of these.

Thanks again for your help. I will try to contact the lady about the pic this week.

Robert S. Smith, Goshen
Hi Again,

As I am sure you know, all of Robert S. and Margaret S. Armstrong Smith's children are buried at Goshen except Matthew who is at Ebenezar, and I am not sure about Martha. If you would like to transfer either Robert or Margaret, and any of the children I will link them. I think that Robert and Peggy had 2 children between John B and Sarah Ann. There are 3plots between Robert and William J., and I believe these are for two children plus Martha.

Hello Calvin, and thank you for the transfer.

As to photos, you are welcome to use the photo of John B. or any photos that I post here of joint kin. (I assume you must be near my age, and at this point in life its better to share than have things lost forever, lol) I have no photos of Lewis, but I know someone who may. I will see what I can find and share the results. It may take awhile as the lady I need to see is sometimes hard to catch up with.

Most of my work on family started in the mid 70's and I was able to interview a number of John B's grandchildren. According to them most of the children lost (especially the 3 in two weeks) was from typhoid. John B. and Rachel had 5 children and lost 3, and he and Sarah had 6 and lost 3. I can not imagine it. Their water source must have had a real problem.

Thanks again for your help, Larry
