RE: Delia Bretzer
Hi Roberta,
I just talked to the secretary at Assumption Cemetery and was told there is no record for George or Esther LaFrance.
The only people with the LaFrance surname are:
Harry: Section C. Lot 14
Mary: Section A. Lot 48
Charles: Section 8. Lot 114
Virginia: Section 8. Lot 114

Hope you're having a good day,
Donna

I agree! Fultonhistory.org is a great site. I've also found a lot of articles for my family. I found the information for Mr. Burlingame yesterday in between writing our notes to each other, while searching familysearch.org.

There are a couple of articles on fulton history.com. One is dated 1928, mentions George as a brother and another from 1943, maybe a second wife, if its the right George. Both articles are from the Syracuse Journal. I couldn't get the page to show up when I clicked on the link. Maybe you'll have better luck.

RE: Delia Bretzer
Thank you for the information. I'll see if I can make a call in the beginning of the week to see if they are buried in Assumption.
A site I use to find obituaries and other news articles is Fultonhistory.com. In the search bar put the name in quotation marks and the death year after and see what you come up with.
My lap top isn't working right now and the site works doesnt always work on my phone,
but I will try to see if I can get it to work.

Talk to you soon,
Donna

Hi Roberta,
Thank you for the added information. I've changed her name to Odelia and made Delia a nickname. Also added her parents in the bio section.
If you have birth and death dates for George and Esther, maybe I could call Assumption and see if they are buried there and where? I've had pretty good luck getting information from them in the past. Let me know.

You wanted a link to a father made on

http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=46497182

The SAR database does not have a birth year but just a death year. And you want him linked to a John Sloan 1736-1778. Would you have a birth date for the first John Sloan. If the SAR has him in the database I would assume he would be born c 1740 to be of the right age for service although children also served. I would like to make sure because of the circa birth dates that these are in face not two seperate people.

Oh ok. I just looked and that was a request that I filled in 2012. I'm sorry that I have no info. We just went there once to get our relatives. It's about 3 hours away. I wonder if you contact the person that made the memorial, they may be able to help. Have a good weekend!
