Hello my name is Donna and I started on Find A Grave when I decided to do my family tree after my father Gary Godfrey's death and boy the things you find and learn has been great and fun. I have been able to add additional information to most of the family members on Find A Grave and things you would not be able to find else where and the stories. I appreciate all the Find A Grave members who have worked hard on each memorial and the time they have invested in this project so that others can enjoy. I appreciate the members who have graciously transferred family memorials in my direct line within four generations of me to me without hesitation or questions and have an understanding of the importance of these transfers even when the ones transferred to me have been uncles and aunts. I thank you all and if for some reason I have a memorial that you would like transferred to you all you have to do is ask and it is yours no matter the relation.
The surnames I am looking for are Godfrey, McGorty, Copas, McLaughlin, Williamson and Griffin which are the primary families in my direct or my husband's direct line.

RE: Catherine McGorty Galvin O'Brien
Done, I did not add the Galvin name to her name in the name line, but John is listed as her husband under spouse. If you want these transferred to you that would be fine with me. Just let me know if you want me to do this.

Don't understand what you want me to do with Catherine. Can you explain? Thanks.

I have seen Carolina Memorial give out the information to folks less kin than you are. I would just email and tell them that you are doing research for your grandchildren who are kin to Ms. Ignacio. It couldn't hurt. If you get the information just let me know and I will go find it for you. Thanks, Pamela

Carolina Memorial Park has stopped helping those of us that try to take pictures of headstones. We used to be able to give them the name of the person and they would show us on a map which section and plot the person was buried in. It is an extremely large cemetery and this was very necessary. Now they will not tell us anything unless we can prove we are family. I was told that you will have to go on their website at and contact them directly or you can write to them at:
7113 Rivers Ave.
North Charleston, South Carolina 29406
You can also phone them at: (843) 797-2222
If you can find out the section and plot number (or the mausoleum and crypt number) I can find it easily but if you can only find out the name of the section or mausoleum they are buried in I will be happy to go and try to find their headstone for you but it is impossible without at least knowing that. You can contact me at
Thanks, Pamela

Godfrey/Griffith Creek Cemt

I wanted to let you know that I photographed the entire cemt. I looked for Cleveland & Elizabeth, did not find a stone for them. The only Godfrey stone in the entire cemt was Josephs.

Hi, I live really close to Hollywood, SC and would be glad to travel there this weekend for the request. However, I cannot find a cemetery on Mizzell Rd. There's no street address listed and I've searched the satellite imagery on Google Maps. Is there any more info on the location of this cemetery?

You are very welcome. There were two other names on the same stone, but the other two appear to still be living, so I just zoomed in on Christopher's.
