I am a 62-year-old (as of 9 Mar 2011) wife, mother of four children, and grandmother of six grandchildren.|
I love doing genealogy; and, wandering around cemeteries looking for relatives who have passed away, just so they will know they are not forgotten.
I have hundreds of photos of gravesites in my computer and am anxious to learn how to download them into Find a Grave's site.
Looking forward to many more opportunities to help.

|Amy Brown||RE: Charlie and Hattie Smith|
I did get your message--I'm sorry I didn't get back to you more quickly! I teach, so I have summers off, but I'm teaching at a local art museum this week and all my extra mental energy has been going in that direction.
Thank you so much for going out to the cemetery for me! You can't imagine how hard it has been, looking for Smiths. My grandfather, Charles' son, was named William and looking for Bill Smith and anyone related to him has been next to impossible. I decided to look up Hattie on a whim a few weeks ago after talking with my aunt and was very surprised to find both her and Charles in the same cemetery. After emailing you, I found Hattie again, this time on a birth certificate for an unnamed baby born the year Hattie died. Knowing that my grandpa only had four other siblings, this new baby was a mystery to me, but your visit to the cemetery cleared that up, as well. Thank you so much for helping me move these puzzle pieces into place!
If you ever have any need for ancestors buried in the Longview/East Texas area, I'd be happy to return the favor!
Thanks again and God bless,
|Amy Brown||Charlie and Hattie Smith|
I was hoping you might could help me with my ancestor search. I'm working this summer on my Smith line, which is, as you might imagine, a haystack FULL of needles. I think I might have hit on something via findagrave.com, though, and I was hoping you could help me confirm it since you created the record. My great grandfather, Charles, was married to a Hattie Atkinson. I found both Charles H. and Hattie A. Smith in the findagrave database for Dry Creek Cemetery, but I don't have any way to know if they are located anywhere near each other. Considering how many Smiths I have found in trying to find these two, I'm reluctant to assume that they were married just because they are in the same cemetery. I was hoping that, if you had the time and inclination, you might could visit the cemetery and see if the two tombstones are near each other. I'm not in any rush at all for this; I just live three+ hours away from Montgomery County and I don't anticipate being able to make it down there any time soon.
Thanks very much, and if I can help you with any ancestors in the Longview/East Texas area, I'd be happy to reciprocate!

Gerald Ray Belue, Sr. is now buried at Dry Creek. When you get back over there could you get a photo? I am creating his memorial, now.
Thank you in advance,
Several of my family members memorials were created by GW, who is now deceased. Since, they can no longer be edited I am planning on recreating them. You have posted photos of headstones. May I use them in recreating the memorial?
Thank you in advance,

Hi, I have made the correction to her memorial. I am not related to them - just adding information to Find A Grave. Brian

You're welcome! I was not too thrilled with the lighting and how the pic came out, I will be in that area again some time and I will reshoot it, hopefully it will come out with more contrast. If I post a new picture I will let you know.

I would contact the office and see who is responsible for the resting plac for your ancestor. This is the contact info.
865 Tutuilla Road
Pendleton, OR 97801
Office Hours: 7am to 4pm, M-F
I talked with Brad one of the caretakers about this and he said there may be a number of reasons the name is not on the box.
