15 years ago we began piddling around with genealogy. Since then we have traveled inside and outside of the US to pull together the branches of our family tree. As disabled veterans, cemetery walking has gotten harder over the years and Find A Grave has become an absolutely wonderful resource for us in an attempt to link up our family.

We adhere to Find A Grave's transfer policies.

RE: Bowe family
Hello, Betsy! I know you are into tracing family history. Are you interested in the link of my mother and father? That would include Boudreau and Langlois connections.

RE: Rufus Edward Cleland
Have added Adah's photo to Rufus' page, along with the information written on the back. They apparently made a visit to Minnesota in the summer of 1946. Fremont Albers married my dad's older sister, Beatrice Cleland, and their farm was just a little south of Dundas, where much of the Frank Cleland tribe settled and stayed. Bea and Fre's grandson had the scrapbook with the photo--and so much more--which we got to see last month while on our own visit. Find A Grave has become my default place to share these wonderful family photos--so glad to get them out there!

Catherine Elizabeth (Menard) Dixon
Hi Elizabeth, In this listing you are credited with providing info that Elizabeth Dixon Doucette's mother was Catherine Elizabeth Menard. The aunt that Elizabeth & Adelyn lived with, Addie Menard Tuttle, is also the aunt of my maternal grandmother (Ella Menard). I cannot find any mention of a Catherine Elizabeth Menard Dixon in census records for the Menard family. Do you have any further info you could share regarding Catherine?

Elizabeth, thank you for the touching note. People like you are exactly why I decided to transcribe the whole cemetery rather than just my family. I happy to see him linked to his family.

Upper Canada Village
Hi Elizabeth,
You have my daughter to thank for the great photos, she brought them as a souvenier of a trip she took to Ontario. Also thanks to my local librarian for getting a copy of the booklet of marker transcriptions from U C V. She had to 'think outside the box' to get it for me as it is a reference only item!! so not available through Inter Library Loan.

I shall pass your thanks on to both of them. I only wish all the markers from the various villages that were flooded had been saved rather than a select few.

Tomlinson at Oak Hill
I've been in touch (phone and email) with the township official who manages the infrequently used Oak Hill cemetery. He said that Carrie is the owner of an 8-grave lot according to the map he had at his house but the burial records themselves are at the town hall. He works full time and his pregnant wife is on bed rest so he has his hands full at the moment. I'll try again later this spring.
