None of my ancestors are buried in California, where I live. My husband and I are retired and live full time in a large motor home coach. When we are not traveling, we have a permanent site in Morgan Hill, CA south of San Jose and the Bay Area. I am happy to try to find and photograph grave sites in nearby Gilroy. |
My hobby is genealogy and I maintain the Barlow Family Tree on Ancestry.com and I research mostly English, Irish, Scotch and German family names. Most emigrated in the early 19th C. and settled all along the east coast from Pennsylvania to Maryland and and Virginia and then into Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama. Many were western settlers who migrated across the Appalachians to settle in the Kansas and Oklahoma plains.
My entire list is getting long and it keeps me busy. I research the family names of: Adamson, Alexander, Barlow. Barton, Beard, Boozer, Brightwell, Butz / Butts / Butt / Pott, Campbell, Dungan, Farquharson, Fergerson, French, Gibson, Griffen, Grimm, Hendon, Hirton, Holtzapfel, Jackson, Jenkins, Keeton, Kincheloe, Kinnick, Lashley, Lobach, MacIntosh, McPherson, Meekin, Moray, Nabors / Neighbors, Phillips, Poore, Rice, Ross, Ruppert, Schleutener / Slutrener / Slutener, Schultz, Small, Smith, Stewart, Suggs, Thompson, Walker, Watson, Williams, and Wronsky / Wroncy.

Hi , We are cousins I think ... My great great grandma was Lizzie Barlow who married Ruben Clark. Im still looking for Lizzies grave I think she died in childbirth abt 1875 in KS . Most family records say 1872 but she had Charles in 1874 and lost a girl Margaret in 1875 and then Rueben married again to Mary Elizabeth Brumble Durkee . Last official record I have on Lizzie is in Centropolis , KS where her sons were born and she is a cook in a tiny café. Well hey and howdy cousin !

Thanks so much for your note! It would be great if you would like to help cover St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, and Gavilan Hills Memorial Park!
I noted there is an open request for St. Mary's and I will unclaim two that I have if you would like to pick them up. Now that summer is fast approaching, there will be a number of requests to fill!
Thanks again for offering to help!
Amos Booth in Gavilan Cemetery, Gilroy, Santa Clara County - thanks, belatedly for the photo of his unmarked grave. I notice that the photo you took included the headstone for Catherine Barney, whose memorial has no photo. I "requested a photo" so you can post the same photo with the notes onto her page and get credit, where credit is due! Regarda, Janice

You are so very welcome! - Michele
The data was taken from a transcription so I've requested a picture to verify the death date.
Thank you very much for the photo. k
