RE: Solomon King at Feightners
I live very close to this cemetery and have actually looked for it twice. The first time 2 years ago, the guy who lives next to the cemetery came over and was talking with me. He told me that when he first moved there, he found so many stones that had been broken and thrown into the shrubs that border his house. He had the shrubs removed and put up a fence and he said they took all the stones and put them in this little shack at the top of the new section. It's locked up so you can't even see them. I would imagine some of the stones that can't be found are there....and again they may be worn so much they are unreadable.

Sad :(

RE: Geo McBride
Andrew Crooks, son of my first Crooks ancestor in western PA, married Elizabeth Jeffery, but I don't know anything about her ancestry. Her dates are 1779-1818. She is buried in Montours.

RE: Geo McBride
Very, very, very distant kin. George's grandfather, Archibald McBride, was also my G-G-G-G Grandfather

RE: Thomas Sims
Thanks, I live in Kentucky but still have family in PA. All the Sims' buried at the Montour Cemetery are ancestors along with several other families. I plan to visit the cemetery next time I'm in PA. Thanks again.

May I have permission to use the photographs of his grave for a book I am writing about my ancestry. Thank you for taking the photo and making it available on Find A Grave.

Middle Name: Quincey
Nevermind my previous post. I have found the marriage record which states his middle name clearly.

Middle Name/Initial
I'm curious what the proof is of his middle name as "Quincey?"

I have examined the 1900 US census and the middle initial is a "G." Also, his obituary states his middle initial as "G."

RE: Catherine Thomas Obit
I like to browse old newspapers from my area and when I find one I look for the same person at the find a grave site and add the obituary to the memorial page.

The link to the Catherine Thomas obit is here-

RE: Catherine Bradley
Thanks for the pictures and taking your time to go get them for me. I'll do some research to see if Bridget belongs to our Bradleys. Thanks again.
