| Bio and Links | I have explored the history of my family for more than twenty years. I am fortunate that my grandparents saved pictures, shared many stories and had an appreciation for the past. Credit also goes to Great Aunt Lucile for getting me started on serious research. It is a treasure hunt that never ends!
I will be happy to transfer family members to you, if they are not a family member of mine.
April, 2012-- I have completed the addition to Find A Grave, all graves not already listed for Rice Cemetery, Dade County, Missouri, based on the roster from 1974. I have added some that were overlooked in the roster, or were buried later. I tried to find information about every person, and hope I have made a meaningful tribute to each of them.
Winter, 2012-- Cousin Roberta McReynolds and I have completed the addition to Find A Grave, all graves not already listed for Long Cemetery, Dade County, Missouri. Roberta also searched Missouri Death Certificates to document burials without gravestones. We believe we have photographed and added all stones with names on them to Find A Grave memorials.

Yes Please do try to come see the cemetery. The monument company is going to come sometime and rest large stones and working on small ones. Two trees are down but work is planed on cleaning those up soon as they . Any information or photos would be great.

That is very nice of you. You can do what ever you want on that. I would rather have you e-mail photos of tombstones and photos of persons buried at Browning Hill.
Where all do you live at? Do you plan to be making a trip this way this summer?

The newspaper article would be great thank you very much. I have tried to contact Darlene but with no reply so far. Its nice to know about your heritage and I am thankful to have pictures to go along with the information. I have copied the pictures for my kids so they can continue to pass them down. I also wanted to let you know that you solved a question for me that I have wanted to know the answer to for a long time. Everyone on the internet had Jasper as being buried in Tennessee and I could not understand why they brought him all the way back to east Tennessee to bury him where everyone said he was buried. This is wonderful that now I have the answer that they did not. I know there is so much wrong information on the internet and I am grateful that I am getting little pieces of it correct at least in my records. Hi, thanks for the reply. My mom Pat is the daughter of Jewel and she use to tell us this story but didn't know much details as my grandmother was very young and only recalled bits and pieces of the story. We often wondered if it was true. My mom is 76 now and I am trying to find some things out for her. I know that Jewel my Grandmother was mostly indian decent, but we are not sure what kind. There are so many things you want to know about your family history. I have always been into old pictures and have been lucky enough to have them from both sides of my family. Is there a newspaper article about this incident that I can get a copy of? If you have any information at all I would love it. Most of our family still resides in Tulare,county, although we do have some that moved back to Missouri, in fact I have an aunt that lives not far from Springfield, Mo also and a few cousins. Yes, I am related, he is an Uncle, a great grand Uncle I think it is. Leah was my gggrandmother. My youngest granddaughter is named after her.
