Your tombstone photo request
Saw your request for a photo of the tombstone of Solomon Palmer Jr,(memorial # 80257446). I think that this memorial is incorrect & have informed the person who created it. After they moved to Georgia, the surname was sometimes spelled Palmour. The person you are looking for is on Find A Grave as Solomon Palmour (#43020698). A photo of his tombstone in the Palmour-McClure Cemetery is provided. His wife, Sara Weaver Palmer, is also in that cemetery (#43020513)with a photo of her tombstone. There are links to 2 of their children. Researched this family when my daugher was taking some Find A Grave photos in Dawson County. They were early settlers in Lumpkin County (now in Dawson County)& were Indian traders. Solomon Palmour served in the Home Guard in the Revolutionary War & is listed in the DAR database as Solomon Palmer (Ancestor # A086757) If you need further info, or have questions, please feel free to contact me. If you find that I am correct, you may need to notify the person who accepted your photo request.

RE: Thanks!
Always happy to help someone wishing to honor an ancestor! I'm happy to say that Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery is a very well maintained cemetery that hosts commemorative ceremonies on Memorial Day as well as on other occasions.
Best wishes,
Dennis O'Brien
