Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on genealogy since 1962. It just gets more exciting with all the new sites like I have found so many family members and have been adding photos when I have them.

I would love to hear from anyone who has a connection to my family or anyone who has a comment.

Wondering if you are related to Catherine Getz? She was the 1st wife of my great grand uncle/my great grandfather's brother. They were married in April 1871 in Adams county, Illinois. Thank you for entering this memorial! Do you know if Catherine was born in Missouri or Illinois? Would love to hear from you.

Susan (Worley) Tyler
I agree that the backward "S's" make her tombstone interesting (and unique), it's one of my favorite ancestor grave markers. Since most (or all) of her sons had moved away, it's entirely possible that the same person did the engraving. I suspect it might have been her nephew James Marion Worley; but that's just a guess based on the feeling Susan and James may have been especially close (familywise and by proximity). Susan's husband Wm M. Tyler (died in service) and James M. Worley served in the same civil war unit, too.

Pap Worley & sister Susan Tyler
Yes, Pap's tombstone is quite readable. Susan Tyler's is not nearly as clear. My husband posted her tombstone photo on her Find A Grave memorial, and I think you captured it in the background in both your photo of James Marion Worley's tombstone and that of his his son Harry Worley.

Pap Worley's Tombstone
Thank you for adding the photo of Elias "Pap" Worley's tombstone, it's wonderful!! His sister Susannah (Worley) Tyler also has a hand engraved tombstone. She is buried at Corry Cemetery in next door Dade County.

RE: Question re: Levi Banfill
Dear Paulette,
I'm sorry to say that I honestly can not recall where I got the birth and death information. I'm guessing that I acquired it from another contributor. I'm usually pretty good about noting my source these days, so I may have recieved it quite awhile ago.

Sorry I was unable to help.

Take care
