Hi! Regarding your photo request, can you please contact the cemetery and obtain the Section, Lot, and Grave Number information, and then post it to your request? Please also ask if there is a grave marker and add that information to your photo request and/or memorial. The Find A Grave FAQs state the photo requestor is responsible to provide this information.
Elmwood Cemetery: (708) 453-0273
This cemetery provides extremely limited assistance to photo volunteers with finding a grave's location. Last year I was able to fulfill almost 200 photo requests at Elmwood through this process. Because the lots in this cemetery are poorly marked, almost no one else ever photographs here. I have only had success here because I have spent literally weeks at a time to learn the intricacies of the layout of this cemetery.
Thank you for helping me to help you.

Just wanted to say thanks for sending me the message. I discovered that I knew her grandaughter, Johanna Richter and Johanna's sister, Anita. Anita was quiet, but Johanna talked a lot. She was the SWEETEST lady...she used to tell my husband about only being able to speak in German when she started school.
So sorry that I did not ask her more questions about her family while she was still alive. I did go to her viewing and met her daughter from California.
I did some linking and added what info I could to Marie's descendants. You can be very proud to claim Johanna as a relative!!!

Hi! Can you please call or e-mail the cemetery and ask for the Section, Lot, and Grave numbers and then add this information to the online record? This helps the photo volunteers to find the grave marker.
Elmwood is a huge cemetery and this information is needed in order to fulfill your request. I have located more than 50 graves at Elmwood for Find A Grave, but I cannot find a grave for you without the burial plot information.
Thank you! Ace

Well, I guess that would make us relatives. I am Andrew's Great Granddaughter. My mother is his granddaughter. Are you sure that you have the right Andrew Wittkowski at St. Adalberts Cemetery? I would love pictures and information but don't know how that works with everything we write being posted for the whole world to read. As for the Gorski family, my mother says that it could be Julia Wittkowski's sister that married a Gorski. I question whether any others from the Skocke family immigrated to the US.

Hi, I was checking out the information about Andrew & Julia Wittkowski. I see you added a picture, which I assume is of Andrew and Julia. I am greatly curious as to whether you also placed the information of the burial being at St. Adalbert's Cemetery. I do not believe this is correct. I have been trying to check St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, IL. but can't get any information on the internet and do not live in IL to go there.

I did look and did not see any.

No, I'm sorry, she was the only one around!

Eric, I also just posted the photo I took showing the space just behind Judith and Henry H. Weinberg's headstone to give you a sense of what is there.
I was at Cedar Park today and confirmed there is no headstone for Donald Weinberg. However, there are two Weinbergs--Judith (#8584727) and Henry H. (#77491835)--who are buried directly in front of where Donald is located. You may want to check out their listings in case they may be related to Donald and of interest to you.
