After my husband passed away on February 22, 2011, I attended a free 3 week geneology course at the North Tonawanda library. This is where I found out about this website. It is a great site, I have contributed several photos that were requested and hopefully will contribute more.

RE: Duplicate Memorial
When I saw you had more info on the memorial than can be garnered from a headstone I figured you were a relative. I, too, would prefer that your memorial stays up since you have that extra info and we find that any extra info is a bonus when someone is researching the residents of Oakwood. Good luck and thanks for the info. Let me know if you ever need any help finding someone else who might be at Oakwood.

Thank you for all the many photos of these memorials. This provides a huge visual record to fill some holes in the family history.

RE: Picture
thank you for offering to look for a copy of the burial record-is there a fee for that? You are very kind, very much appreciate your efforts.

RE: Re: Nathan Washburn
That's him. Both dates on the marker are wrong. His wife was getting widow's pension after she applied in 1843. There's no doubt on his date of birth either. I'm just happy to see a marker with his name on it. He was a drummer in the Revolutionary War.
