My home is Alabama, always will be no matter where we live. Being an only child and losing my Dad at 8, I never knew much about his family, as they all died while I was still young.
I have been doing active research on the family for over 30 years, wow has it been that long, must be getting old. Researching the following Surnames: Amberson, Ayers, Brockman. Decker, Ganey, Gober, Gilley, Gazaway/Gassaway, Gunnels, Hardwick/ Hartwick, McMillen, Pendergrass, Rogers, Stewart, Turner, Westbrook, Wortham.
I grew up with Decoration Day (2nd Sunday in May)going to all the cemeteries were the family was and last to Dad's grave in Oneonta, Alabama. Visiting the family plot and placing roses on all the graves. Mom would work on them for days.
Afterwards, we would go to "Little Joe's" restaurant and have dinner, they served "Family Style". For those in other areas of the country this is like sitting down at grandma's house with bowls of food set on the table and everyone shares.
Some of my most wonderful memories are setting around talking to the family about all the grandparents, where they lived, what was their name, and stories.
I miss going to the cemeteries and finding a new aunt, uncle, cousin….etc. FAG helps to fill that place in my heart.
Please submit any additions or corrections to me under "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" on the memorial site.
I will be happy to add any information and relationship links for you, please furnish appropriate link numbers.
I will transfer memorials of your ancestors unless they are also my ancestors. (maybe then we can negotiate)
If you have something that needs attention in a timely manner please email me. Jambyr@gmail.com | |

 | Stewart Updates Hello Amby, thank you for the correction info on the Stewarts. I made the changes you requested. I am not related to the Stewarts. I work at one of the Historical Societies in Franklin County and sometimes I run across info that I feel needs to be put somewhere. I am so greatful for Find A Grave. It provides that place for most info to be located. I say most because I have run across a few times where I have info I found for a family member and I have ask the owner of the memorial to update the info, but they will not update it unless it is a proven fact. When I find old records that are older than I am those people are closer than I will ever be and they valued their family history more. so I end up keeping notes on my own system to refer back to if I have to. Anyhow, if you would to own any of these memorials just send me an edit and I will transfer them to you.

 | Sanders Cemetery Yes Amby, Well, first off, There is another Cemetery "Kitchen @Sanders", across the Driveway and when somebody passes, The Newspaper Says, buried at Sander's, when they are actually not. Some people in other States, just list the Obituary's, that's why those are duplicated. So I have Documented The knew Cemetery with Pictures.
So yes, really Confusing. Yes, I have took Inventory of Sanders, Crawl around it when I can and clean the "Unknown Graves." You can read about my Great Uncle, T. Anderson Willingham, Sr. abt. what he did in 1975, for the Cemetery.
We have 7 Generations buried there, and I am related to at least half the Folks there. My Grandaddy has both sets of His 1st and 2nd great grands their, on ALL Sides.
That is Awesome about your Grand daughter helping you! My grand kids love to go there, too., ever since they were little, reading all the Stones. You are raising her right! well, Thanks for adding the rest of the names, for the Families. Cindy | | | Amy Brunner

 | RE: Francis Jane Bell Gober You're more than welcome. Anything else you need, let me know. What part of the country are you in? I'm in North GA. | | | RobMinteer57
 | Delbert Amberson I'll delete mine, but I wonder if "The Silver City Cemetery" isn't really Memory Lane, since there are only 56 people in it, and the few I've looked at are only from obits, and there's no map... | | | M.E. Packard
 | Tanner I also have a Jerry Lee and Michael A Tanner in Roselawn Cemetery, let me know if you want them transferred too. | | | Bud
 | RE: Beulah Duke Gazaway You are very welcome and I am glad to be able to do it. The cemetery is easy for me to walk in and the weather was fantastic. Happy Easter, BudAdded by Bud on Mar 31, 2013 5:47 AM | | | Nancy Ladd
