Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been stomping around cemeteries since I was a little girl. I would go with my grandmother, the family genealogist, hunting and searching. Today sometimes I go alone; other times I drag my family. I love walking cemeteries, wondering about the lives of the people. I love the peace & quiet you find there.

You have my permission to use any photo that I post, as long as it's not for profit. Thanks!

The dates are not from the stone, but from records. It's been so long since I've done this research, and I didn't put the source in my program, but it's probably from RI Vital records.

RE: Wallace
Pip,

I believe the link to John and Henrietta Wallace will be found a few miles away in Millington, MD. Time will tell but, the children were between Census and paper records are unlikely to exist. Delaware began to require documentation in 1913, if I'm not mistaken. Didn't work.

I'm registered at Delaware Archives but, haven't found a need to return there recently.

The daughter of the Tucker's in Blackiston married into my Tucker line a few generations later. A daughter of Sarah Elizabeth Tucker Archer married my father's uncle Edward. I believe they were English and mine were Irish. The reason I was down there searching...

Mary McGinnis
Thank you & Question
Thank you so much for the photo.I looked and looked for this. Did you see the grave of Lewin Startt McGinnis (1901-1954)? It would have been a military memorial as the only record I have have is a request for the family for a marker to the Marines at this cemetery.

RE: Wallace
Thanks for the heads-up. I've deleted the incorrect links to Henrietta. Unfortunately, there is no match for parents John and Henrietta Wallace and most likely, there never will be. While the unknown caretaker of the wooden monument is alive, there is someone who may be able to answer that question.

RE: Donald E Marvel
No, I don't have the paper records. I only have a lot map they gave me for the 'rows' section that Donald and Mary Louise are in. All it has is last names. I'll send you a copy if you like.

RE: Donald E Marvel
Glad to help. While looking at the cemetery records, I noticed another unmarked Marvel in row 6, in grave 77 just down from Donald. It is Mary Louise Marvel, age 4 years, daughter of Francis L. and Margaret Marvel per census records. I added a memorial for her. Just an FYI. Bill

RE: Freedeck
Thank you very much for the kind words. It's great to hear that you agree with my 'rant' (dead-on description!) on my profile. A lot of that was driven by seeing the poor shots that a local volunteer photographer was constantly posting, while at the same time he was bragging about the large number of shots he had taken. Most of his shots had markers obscured with weeds, leaves and even snow. It really irked me, as you can tell. I even retook a few of them because his were so bad and I felt sorry for the family who requested them.
On the Freedeck grave, Viola was in grave 4, but her husband and at least a couple of others are there too. I wasn't able to get a list of all occupants, but if they are important to the family tree, you may want to check with Lawn Croft and get the names for adding memorials. I'll post the same photos if you do - just send me an email or create photo requests.
Best wishes for Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Bill
