I found findagrave when I was doing research on my family tree and I love this site, I think it is wonderful for not just us researchers but also as a wonderful way to remember those who have gone on... I love to take photos and have found I really enjoy taking photos of gravestones, there is just something about taking a picture of a stone that someday might be unreadable and preserve it on this wonderful site...Anybody that runs across one of my photos has my permission to use it in their family trees or in whatever other projects they need the use of the photo for... Also anyone that would like me to transfer a memorial site over to them I will do so gladly...|

Oh, aren't you just the best!!!
Thanks very much. I so enjoy adding information for my relatives. I will get busy after my class reunion this weekend and get some more added for Fern.
Thanks again for sharing!

Hi, yes that would be fine. Thank you for taking the photos. I didn't even realize there was an on-line listing of the graves in the cemetery. I knew there was a printed directory done a few years ago of all cemeteries in St. Clair County.
Thank you for adding my name.
I have several family members buried in Appleton City Cemetery and would be glad to be able to add information to each.
They are: James Henry & Matilda Long, my grandparents, Margaret Sumpter, GGrandmother, and 2 Sumpter sons of hers.
Thanks for all your work and let me know how I can help.

Thank you for your prompt response to the request for additions and links.

You are welcome. Not so sure, however, that Timothy listed on the one monument(on that lot) for Rose is the one you are thinking about. Rose died in 1849 @ the age of 33, so she was born in approx 1816. Also, I was curious as to what happened in June/July 1849 that took the lives of Rose, her 3 children, and whoever that John Dwyer was....there was a Cholera epidemic in St.Louis.

I tried to get as close as I could, but as you could see, they are quite worn! If you'd like, I could make a rubbing and mail it to you. The cemetery is at my church, so I'm out there a few times a week and it wouldn't be a problem.

I am a descendant of William's brother, Joseph. Several years ago I came in contact with Wm's 3rd grt-granddaughter who still lives in Laharpe, IL. She stated that Wm is buried on the William Pence farm, Lomax twp, Henderson Co.,IL.
Hope this helps.
