I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published.
|DHuppWard||Date of Death of Wilhelm Leitner|
You listed the date of his death as 17 Feb 1941. I have searched online and cannot find the day and month for his death. He is/was my father's maternal grandfather. I have a document that shows the date of death of Wilhelm's wife Gertrude and that date corresponds to the date you listed for her. Both are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn Park, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Please let me know the source from which you obtained Wilhelm's date of death. Thank you.

Hi Jean, are you a relative of Ludwig Louis Unfried and his wife, Anna Marie?
They were my great grandparents.

I am new to this and don't know how but would gladly take the 6 Baumgartens that you have at Holy Cross Cemetery.

I deleted my photo. Thanks for fixing yours. A transfer isn't necessary. If I'm related, it would only be distantly. That is yet to be determined.

I have copied and then reposted your photo of the Frederick Koerner grave marker image and it appears right-side up. I didn't do anything to turn it, so I can't explain why your version appears sideways. I have given you credit in the caption for the original image. Please delete the sideways version. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the Koerner photographs. Could you please turn around the photo on Frederick's page (#105331287)? Thank you.
|Kelly Austin||RE: Mary Daiger Fillinger|
Thanks very much for getting back to me. You are correct. I am confident that this Mary Fillinger is the oldest daughter of Joseph Daiger, Sr. Her obituary from 1892 states exactly that. I can send you a copy if you would like – just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I have a lot of information on the Daiger family. Joseph Daiger, Sr was my 4th great grandfather. He had 3 wives and A LOT of children.
What I was wondering – where the information for her being born in Montgomery County, PA came from?
That scenario is entirely possible b/c her father, Joseph Daiger, Sr. immigrated into Philadelphia before coming to Baltimore. I know he was in Baltimore by 1811, but it certainly possible that he was married and had his daughter, Mary, in Philadelphia or Montgomery County, PA before moving. I cannot find Mary’s baptism or Joseph’s first marriage at St. John the Evangelist/St. John’s German in Baltimore, where his next oldest child, John, was baptized in 1811.
I currently have a request into PAHRC to see if they have any record for a first marriage for Joseph Daiger or Mary’s baptism.
Thanks again for getting back to me. I am ultimately trying to determine where in Germany Joseph Daiger emigrated from….
