Family is everything to me. I found Find A Grave while researching my family tree. I use it to research ancestors and honor them through the memorials found here.
I grew up in Henry County, Virginia from 1966 to 1984. Graduated from Bassett High School, Class of 1980. I left Henry County to join the Air Force and now live out west. I travel back there as often as I can to visit. I miss my family in Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. I also am a retired veteran. I served from 1984-2004.
I started asking family tree questions when I was very young. It began when I was trying to understand why my paternal cousins were not cousins with my maternal cousins. And yet they were all my cousins.
After I understood that I just had to know more. When I was 11 or 12 years, I started asking lots of questions about how our family members were related to each other and began my first family tree. That was forty years ago and my tree continues to grow.
I've been searching for my ancestors and their descendants ever since. I'm curious about what it was like to live their life during that time in history. I want to glimpse what their daily life with evolving social values and changing technologies must have been like.
I enjoy paying respect to all those who have come before me. Knowing more about my direct family that have passed on brings joy to my heart as I remember precious time spent together. I am so blessed to have this wonderful family.
I will care for all memorials with the honor and dignity deserved.
Life is over before you know it. So, I live for today, honor yesterday, and plan for tomorrow. I try to never do anything that wouldn't make my Momma proud of her Baby Girl. GG ginny.gebicki@bresnan.net
Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. -Mary Elizabeth Frye
