|I am a member of the Chattahoochee County (Georgia) Historic Preservation Society (CCHPS), and as part of the ongoing project of cemetery preservation, I am taking photos of each grave in all the cemeteries in Chattahoochee County. I will be glad to assist persons needing photos from this county (including Fort Benning).|
The Historic Society also has available the book "The History of Chattahoochee County, Georgia" by N.K. Rogers. Genealogy information on the leading families of the county up to the 1930s is contained therein.

Hi, Gwanda - I hope you're well. I appreciate all the grave photos you've posted for Johnson and some of the other private cemeteries on the Ft. Benning military reservation. I was recently working on #10 (Midway Methodist) and saw that you had posted some out there. I am preparing an application for a VA monument for a man buried there, Isham R. BROOKS, on behalf of a descendant of his. If there are any veterans of military service (including Confederate) that you know of whose graves are not marked, I would be glad to put together an application for a monument. We only have to prove the military service and place of burial, but for veterans who died before September 1990, they cannot already have a marked grave with inscription (a grave marked with a plain concrete or brick ledger or other marker with no writing is still eligible). We do need authorization from a family member for the application, but it can be a distant kinship. Thanks again - John http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mr&GSln=edmondson&GSfn=john&GSmn=b&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&MRid=46870015&df=all&
