Our Chambers family are descendents of the pioneering Blount County Tennessee families, including Cades Cove settlers. Our earliest ancestor (to date) is Moses Chambers, born about 1805 in Blount County (TN).|
I work on genealogy as a hobby and enjoy finding and sharing family information with others. It's fun!

Hi Tom. My father Floyd Richards kept talking about an Aunt Callie, sister of his father John Henry Richards. I finally found her and would like you to include her in the siblings list. Her name was Martha Caledonia, hence the "Callie" She was born 22 July 1879 and died 11 Nov 1958. She married a Thomas Franklin Cook and was the mother of ten that I can figure. One of her sons was named Floyd, so I think my father was named after his cousin. Please e mail me if you need names and dates for the children. I am going to look up some places of burial. Thanks, Dorothy Richards Knight

This is a very well maintained yard and lots of older stones, I enjoyed it.

You are welcome Tom, I enjoy doing this

I added links to her parents. would you like me to transfer this memorial to you to manage?
|Donna Woodward||Re: Picture request for Thomas and Mary Chambers|
I was at the Silcox Lay Cemetery today. I looked and did not find a grave for Thomas or Mary Chambers. Are you sure they were buried in the Silcox Lay Cemetery?
|Thomas J. Lee||Roxie Artis tie to her mother, Selena|
The connection has been made. I did not know where Selena was buried. My connection and interest was in Roxie's daughter, Carrie Artis Lee. She was married to my mom's oldest brother, Jesse Clyde Lee. The majority of my research was done in early 1997, but I've added some throughout the ensuing years. Thanks for calling this to my attention.

You are welcome.
|Vickie Bellus||Hi cousin!|
Hello, thanks for leaving flowers for my Grandma Ida Maxine Holloway Chambers :)
|Mark||Lovett and Chambers|
Hi Tom, I just claimed your photo requests for Altus, Oklahoma. I want you to know that I will photograph all Lovett and Chambers markers that are listed on Find-A-Grave without grave photos (and will improve a few others). So when you see your requests fulfilled, do a search for the others. For your reference, there is an Altus Cemetery on-line database at www.cityofaltus.org (click "Cemetery" in the left menu, then click "Database" in the left menu, then click the applicable cemetery in the center of the screen). I have confirmed that all of the Lovett's listed in the database already have Find-A-Grave memorials, but there are some Chambers' who do not. Hey, I'm addicted to genealogy and family history too, and I'm just paying forward tenfold the photo requests I've had fulfilled. Cheers, --Mark
