RE: Baron Hirsch Cemetery S.I.
It's nice to hear feedback after I take pix...most people don't even bother! But I like Baron Hirsch and am there from time to to. The staff have asked me to ask pic requestors to ask them for the Wall Map location of the grave based on date of death or sometimes name only. From there they can find the correct location. That's their "thing" so I just pass it on. They happen to have 20 individual maps of the ground. Also, your requests that I was talking about that needed locations were: Abraham & Tress Sterne and Solomon Agar (from 8/3/11. Even with the detailed info, you know that it still takes a lot of stalking around, over fallen stones, to find the person since the grave and rows are not marked. That's why I like to go into a particular burial society with a lot of names and just look for them...they're really never where they say there are!

Baron Hirsch on Staten Island
Hi Maxine- I took a lot of pix at Baron Hirsch the other day for you and just uploaded them! These are requests from 2013, but I noticed you had some from and earlier time. If you would like to call the office and get the plot locations, including the Wall Map number (that's what they want over there) I could go back for you. I find this a fascinating cemetery for some reason. TimV

Gone But Not Forgotten
RE: Susan Pulver
Sorry Pam. I was in a hurry to send so many edits. I never know when they will be updated. Thank you. You are very fast. :-) I will send you a message later today. I am tracking my Wolcott family. Many more to do.
Thanks again. Jackie

RE: Elizabeth Jewell Akers
You are very welcome. As always, I am very happy when I find your family. I had sent you an email a few weeks ago about some stories I had read about your family and some photos. If you didn't see the email, let me know.

I see your requests for this cemetery, but is under about 2 feet of snow now. I expect to get to all requests in April. Don't give up!

Have you ever heard of or read the book "The Family Jewells" By Lois Henson? I happened to see it at my local library and it seems to have a lot of people related to you and a lot of info on their role in the Piedmont Community of Montgomery County. Anyway, just found it interesting and didn't know if you were aware of it.
