I was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1940. Moved to Vicksburg with my parents in 1945 and grew up here, graduating from Carr Central High School. After receiving an MBA from Miss. State University in 1965, I joined the IBM Corporation in sales and marketing positions, retiring in 1995. During my career, I lived in Clinton, MS, Naperville, IL, Columbus, GA, and Boca Raton, FL. Since then, I've lived in Baton Rouge, LA, Westlake Village, CA, and returned to Vicksburg in 2005.|
I am a licensed park guide for the Vicksburg National Military Park and thouroughly enjoy my city and its history and sharing that with residents as well as tourists to the city.
I also enjoy being a photo volunteer and look forward to every opportunity to provide a headstone/grave photo when I can.
Besides tours of the park and city, I also give tours of Cedar Hills Cemetery and motorcycle tours of the park. Come see us and, if you wish, I'd be happy to give you a tour!

Just a brief note to let you know that this afternoon I found out that my friend's husband had a photograph of his great-grandfather's tombstone from Arlington National after all. So there is no need for you to use your time to look for Philip's tombstone after all.

I have been helping a friend with her family's history. One of her relatives is Philip Burr Keeler and he is buried in Vicksburg National Cemetery.
I have created a memorial for him on Find-A-Grave. Memorial #118352288. We would like to have a picture of his tombstone.
Since you are a guide there, you obviously know the cemetery well, and, therefore, should have no problem finding Philip's grave. We hope this is something you can do for us. Here are the particulars:
Philip B. Keeler, Jr.
buried: Sept. 21, 1956
Sec. W, Grave 17830
Any help you can give us will be most appreciated.

If u ever go back, would you take a pix of the complete grave and headstone. Thanks so much!
Hi Gary....yeah please contact the contributor that made the memorial...I sent them an email last week and they didn't listen to me....I just simply requested it when I came across it. Have a Happy New Year!

You are wonderful! I sent the posted headstone to my cousin in Indiana who got us all started many, many years ago on our family tree. I know he will be so thankful also. Actually, we could not get her husband to go out and take the pix for us and he lives right there. So, we stopped asking him and then I entered all our family on findagrave and did the request.

Thank you so much for taking the photo of my cousin's headstone. I have been waiting sometime and live in Florida.
Do you happen to have the photo of the entire headstone, if so, would you email it to me at email@example.com as I keep a book of my family's headstone. Thanks again so much!
