MELL Marietta City Cemetery, Cobb County, Georgia

Looking beyond FindAGrave, the following site:

includes images of stones in the Marietta City Cemetery for more than a dozen folks who are surnamed MELL, including Edward Sumner MELL of Liberty County & Laura Matilda BARTHELMESS of Savannah. That senior couple and several of their children who are buried with them currently lack FindAGrave memorials - perhaps you would like to establish them (if you would like for me to do it for you, I could do so and then transfer them to you), and you could either add your images of the stones, or request that someone else photographs them. I am not likely to ever visit that cemetery and would prefer not to maintain any memorials for it.

May God Bless You and Your Family,

MELL Liberty and Chatham Counties, Georgia, and Beyond

Some of the MELLs, their descendants and in-laws in the Savannah area are our cousins. I had some years ago particularly researched the two BARTHELMESS connections (marriage licenses - probably little work in the probate files of Chatham County or in newspapers or city directories), which led to establishing cyber-memorials for that clan and their relatives for Laurel Grove Cemetery. Anything I had concerning the earlier MELLs (Liberty County), or the later far-flung MELLs, was from secondary sources. There was also a connection of the prominent Rev. MELL with the COOPERs of Cooperville/Dover/Wades Baptist Church in Screven County (I've surveyed that cemetery and established FindAGrave memorials for those buried there - the congregation moved "into town," but still maintains and uses the nearby old cemetery). In the referenced messages, I had sought to aid those who had established SHUGART and MELL cyber-memorials (in Cobb and Dekalb Counties, respectively) to perhaps find each other and further honor those for whom they had established those memorials - one attempt "took," the other did not. If their information is of more help to you, I hope that both of them will reply.

May God Bless You and Your Family,
