Bio and Links
Bio Photo After discovering Find A Grave, I've become hooked. It's so true: "you can't do just one."

If you have any corrections, links or additions, let me know through the "edit" tab which is on the top right of the memorial page. I try to be perfect, but so far....:o(

Please feel free to use any of my cemetery or headstone photos for whatever purpose.

TRANSFERRING Management: To be fair to all, I follow Find-A-Grave's guidelines.
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

Just use the "edit" tab and let me know how you are related and your FAG contributor number.
----------------------------
RESEARCHING: I am looking for parents and/or siblings of Austin Goodwin Broton [aka Broughton, Brotton, Button] (1856-1946). He's my great grandfather and a bit of a mystery. His mother was a Goodwin, born in Scotland and died in New York about 1870...we think.

Most importantly...have fun!

Thanks for pointing out duplicate. I contacted the contributor and asked that she delete her entry. She had wrong cemetery. I am a descendant of Maria. Thanks-Gary

The W. M. is abbreviated William. I found his death certificate. "William Emil Diedrich" on 14 March 1922.

Phyllis,
The markers are very close together. I would guess it is his, but could not say for sure. If you like you can put the picture I added of the plot on your memorial for William. V

Thanks so much for making the correction. I have done a number of dupes myself. It's funny no matter how much you check beforehand some always get thru. Regards - Tammy

RE: Burial Locations at Sacramento City Cmtry
Happy New Year, Phyllis!!

Those that show a tier & grave # with the location unknown are actually lost in the cemetery. The City Cemetery changed their design from tiers to the English Garden that is seen now. The "unknown location" refers to those that have been moved and unfortunately, the records to where the remains are within the cemetery have been lost. (I heard that the then cemetery manager took them home and never returned them.) The Archive volunteers at the cemetery refer to these as the "Lost Tiers".

Most of these lost remains are from deaths occurring from 1850-1855 or maybe a bit later. I believe that these did not have headstones otherwise they would been found by now by the Archive volunteers.

Hope this helps. Lin

RE: Clyde Ray Jackman
Hi Phyllis,
I have 3 cemetery books here at home and yes indeed they are littered with mistakes but they give us a starting point. Thanks for all your hard work.

I did the edits as you had sent them but in doing the extra research and finding two sources of death I have changed the death date from Apr to June. Thanks, Hannah
