Bio and Links
Bio Photo After discovering Find A Grave, I've become hooked. It's so true: "you can't do just one."

If you have any corrections, links or additions, let me know through the "edit" tab which is on the top right of the memorial page. I try to be perfect, but so far....:o( If you send me a suggestion or correction for a memorial please provide some documentation or other evidence to support it.

Please feel free to use any of my cemetery or headstone photos for whatever purpose.

Most importantly...have fun!

TRANSFERRING Management: To be fair to all, I follow Find-A-Grave's guidelines.
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

Just use the "edit" tab and let me know how you are related and your FAG contributor number.
----------------------------
RESEARCHING: I am looking for parents and/or siblings of Austin Goodwin Broton [aka Broughton, Brotton, Button, Brayton] (1856-1946). He's my great grandfather and a bit of a mystery. His mother may have been a Goodwin, born in Scotland and died in New York about 1870...we think. His father's first name may have been Bernard.

Thank you so much for taking time to send valuable information for the memorial. Having the names of parents is wonderful... This is a contribution future generations will find so helpful! Thanks again.

RE: Dorothy Metz #167777530
Phyllis, thanks for the info. Dorothy's father is Harry Foster Metz #62237025. Can you do the edit to connect to father, once the memorials are merged? I will use your DOD. Thanks again,

Barb

Since you added a newspaper obit, are you related? Could this be a duplicate of #62236998? I am tracing Anna Fischbach, who married Jacob Metz, who I believe are the grandparents of Harry Foster Metz, who is the father of your Dorothy. Do you know who Dorothy's mother was? Thanks.

Hi,
I got the pictures per your request for you. Sorry it took me so long. :-]
In the area shot, it does not show up real good in the picture, but through the trees off in the distance you can see part of the huge mausoleum building in this cemetery.
Amy is buried in the "Enchanted Forest". It is one of the oldest sections in the cemetery. Lots and lots of big trees.
Down past the big tree in the area shot picture is the gravestone of a soldier who was part of the group of soldiers who went and tracked down and arrested John Wilkes Booth after he killed President Lincoln.

Phyllis,
Thanks for passing that love story along.........."Sleepless in Portland" could have been the title of the snippet in the Mariposa Gazette in 1910 about their reconciliation and marriage. Looks like they had some time together before Charles passed away.

Re; Andrew Randall
Phyllis --
Yes, I believe I came across his wife and children's names on an ancestry database. I'm in the midst of three things right now, so will send the info tomorrow.

I believe he was a botanist and that's why the title of Dr. But, must reread the article.

Um-m- sounds like he was ahead of his time in leveraging properties, something we all know about with the 2008 crash!

Howdy,
OK, neat, thanks for letting me know.
I am not related. I just went through that section and added people to Find A Grave so anyone looking for them could find them easier.
If you put in a request for pictures I will get them tomorrow since I am going back up to the cemetery tomorrow.
