Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am the 8th of 10 born to Paul and Edith (Drayton) Johnson of La Junta Colorado.
I decided to trace the family history after hearing all the crazy stories of Native American relatives and outlaw relatives. Turned out none was true. Basically came from hard working farmers who had lots and lots of kids and have traced them all over the country with all sorts of names.
The more I dig the more I find and cant believe how huge this thing is getting!

Parks & Sarah Brittain
Not sure what happened here, but Parks memorial needs to be revised.

Parks Brittain
BIRTH 10 JUL 1771 Richmond, Harlan, Kentucky
DEATH 05 OCT 1846 Shady Run, Keokuk, Iowa

Is there a grave marker or some kind of information on these burials for this private Jones cemetery? I found a James & Deborah Leonard-Gore living next to Parks & Sarah in 1810 Barren County, KY after marrying there 28 Jul 1803. Deborah is from New Jersey and probable sister. I believe Sarah Price is likely Sarah Leonard as the only mentions of the Price surname comes from Deborah Leonard-Gore's death record which states under list of parents names: __&__, Price __ and Sarah's child Milton "Price" Brittain. So, in Deb's death record does the line after Father's surname indicate mother's 2nd marriage was Price and her actual maiden name is unknown? I found a James & Deborah Leonard-Gore living next to Parks & Sarah in 1810 Barren County, KY. James Gore gave Sally Leonard away and is on her marriage certificate to Parks and other records.

Sarah Price Brittain (1771 - 1843)
Hi Sue,
Just thought I'd update some info on Sarah "Sally" Leonard.
According to her marriage record of 21 Nov 1810 to Parks Brittain she was 21 (b.1789). No person has given evidence nor have I found any evidence of her death.
Remove:
Sarah Price Brittain (1771 - 1843) I found no evidence of such a person. Although Parks did have a wife before her, Elizabeth King.
Replace with:
Sarah "Sally" Leonard 17891843
BIRTH 1789 Knox, Knox, Illinois, USA

Took the picture of the new headstone today and posted them on findagrave. They left the old one there also. The new one looks great.

RE: William Bridges
Thanks. His father, Jesse Bridges, was married to two of my G-Grandfather's sisters, Mary and Elmira but Elmira was William's mother.

Photographed the stone as asked and placed it on the memorial. Normally I also look in the cemetery book in the city office also and get dates and places of birth and death if they are listed. These two are not listed in the cemetery book which leads me to think that they may be buried elsewhere and a memorial stone placed here in the Girard cemetery for them.

G, Jones-Ottawa Indian Cemetery
Hi Sue, The stone photographed for G. Jones is definitely the right one but is almost not legible and is broken into two pieces and out of the base. The caretaker said they would try to reconstruct it and make a new base after Memorial Day. Also, the dates are not quite what your record indicate. G. Jones was born in 1890 and died in 1891 but the rest of the dates match so we feel confident this is what you want.
