RE: William Tilley, Jr in Landis Cemetery
The fact that there is only one William Tilley marker is almost meaningless. There are numerous graves in the Landis Cemetery, which have unreadable stones. Probably close to a third fall into that category. Some never had stones and a few were marked with fieldstones and some stones have worn down so that they are unreadable. There are no records of who is buried in the cemetery except after the fact records, which means that someone recorded all of the markers.

If it weren't for the "Jr" on the stone, I would conclude that this was your GG Grandfather.

I will add a note to the William Tilley, Jr, memorial that this could be a duplicate to the other William Tilley memorial.

I am open to making changes at a later date.

By the way. You can most likely get the William Tilley memorial transferred to you. If you are a direct descendant of no further than GG grandparents, you can request a transfer from the person who owns the memorial. If he will not transfer the memorial, you can wait thirty days and appeal to findagrave. This is somewhere in the FAQs.

William Tilley, Jr in Landis Cemetery
I am normally very willing to make changes to memorials. However, I need further information for this one. What are you asking me to do?

Also, I need to know the source of your information. The family names Tilley and Massey are very common in this area as are the given names William and Malinda. There is an undated stone with very common names and the suffix "Junior" which you claim does not belong. Because of this I am a bit skeptical of your information. How do you know the correct information for this specific marker?

I have no specific personal interest in this one way or the other. However, I am interested in accuracy.
