That's neat that you two share the same relative! If you decide you will get to Carthage, let me know and I'll give you the directions how to locate the grave. Travel safe.

She uploaded a grave marker, but I don't think that this is Edwins or that the obit is his. The father and place of birth are incorrect.

If you go to the cemetery during the week, there is an onsite sexton there that would assist you. If it is a weekend that you go, if you will contact me before you come, I would be happy to give you directions so you can locate the grave for E.P Helms and the other grandparents you would be looking for.
|I Remember When||Flower message|
Regarding the message in the flower you left on the page for Edmond/Edwin Parker Helms, I have made adjustments on the page accordingly. The cemetery records have him listed as Edmond Helms so I did not change that. I did however, make a note at the top of the page about the name discrepancies and changed the birth place to Iowa and made a note about the death certificate reporting him as being born at sea.
Had you sent me the information by using the edit tab on the upper right side of his page, I would have made these adjustments. The flowers are not the appropriate place to leave that sort of message.

If I transfer the Hinshaws to you to manage, that would just mean that you would be able to go into their postings in Findagrave and make changes, such as adding biographical details, correcting dates or locations, etc. Since they are your direct ancestors, I just thought you might like to have control over this, and I didn't want you to think I was trying to "hoard" them for myself. There are people on Findagrave who are unfortunately into racking up numbers for themselves. When my grandma passed away, a complete stranger posted incorrect information about her in Findagrave before we had even had her funeral. When we found out later and politely asked him to transfer her posting so we could update and correct it, he refused. My sister and I had to get Findagrave to force him to release her. Anyway, that is why it is really important to me that when I find a relative of someone I've posted I make sure to offer to transfer them. I'll go ahead and transfer them now, so they will show up in your list of postings managed (or when you go to their pages, you'll just see that you have access to edit them if you wish).

Hi Jim -
I just saw that you had left flowers for your great-grandparents Mary and Jack Hinshaw at Yeakley. Please let me know if you would like to manage their postings and I would be glad to transfer them to you. I am not related to them - at least not that I know of, although if you look hard enough you eventually find that most of the families in that area are related somehow!

Hi Jim, I was wondering if you could tell me your link to Frank Richard Dodd. I've been doing family history on the Dodd family. My father is Frankiln Edward Dodd. His father is Floyd Edward Dodd. Floyd was Frank Richard Dodd's son. I'd be interested in hearing anything you know on the Dodd side. -Heather
