RE: Joel Thoms Miller
Hello. Well, it's been a long time since your Q on how I knew about Joel's middle name, but here's the answer: I made an educated guess. His Civil War Draft Registration record listed him as "Joel T Miller," and his 1st son was named Thomas Joel Miller. I hope that helps. Sorry for the long delay.

Could you send the id # for Jessie Lawhead? I can't seem to bring it up. Thank you.

Hello. Most of my research comes from Are you a member? It's a fabulous service with SO much data! Of course, one needs to sort it and regard some of it carefully, but for the most part, I have successfully found MUCHO info.

Re, the woman in the subject line of this message, her name is actually "Ladicy," a variation or nickname of "Ladicia." This name was not common, but occasionally bestowed as a given name during the Victorian age. It comes from the ancient Greek, "Laodicea," meaning "people who govern themselves." Laodicea also was an ancient Syrian city mentioned in the Bible. I know the correct spelling of her name because it was engraved on the headstone of her son, William, of which I have a photograph from the collection of another researcher.
