My Name is Bonnie (Mapes) Doolittle. I am new to find a grave, and I have waited a long time to get into my family geneology, and am enjoying it very much. I love the old stories that I am able to give ny children, along with all the old pictures. If any one has any information on the Mapes's of New York, and Michigan, or the Bishops of Michigan and Canada. I would love to hear the storeies and or see any pictures. I am Also Looking for any Pictures of the Spicers of Ohio and Michigan and the Smith (Schmidt) of Michigan and Germany.

Thanks Bonnie

Hi Bonnie...I saw your listing for Adaline and that you were trying to find her. Have you located her husband and his 2nd wife? They are in Union Cemetery in Isabella County. You may want to call some of the townships around Charlotte and maybe the city of Charlotte and see if they have records going back that far. I've done that before when trying to find someone:) Most townships/cities are happy to help:)

Mapes
Bonnie,
I've reached out to the Mapes subject matter expert for clarification on the topic of Samuel Mapes' parentage and will update the page based on his response. I've also asked him to the children's names.
thanks for alerting me to the possible error.

Mapes in Howells NY
hi Bonnie,
just wondering about William Mapes II who you have added to the Mapes Cemetery in Howells NY. What source do you have that he is buried there?

I do not believe he is buried here--there are no burials that early here. I believe he is buried in the Goshen area although I have not yet found his burial site. Samuel (1735-1820) was the Mapes who settled this land (having relocated from Blooming Grove NY).
