Born March 8, 1954 in Modesto, California. Grew up in Sacramento and El Dorado Hills, California. Graduated from Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs in 1971 and Brigham Young University in 1975. Adult life in Gaffney, South Carolina except for 4 years in Birmingham, Alabama. |
I volunteer at the Family History Center for our church and assist in indexing funeral home records, photographing graveyards, etc.
I work with the cub scouts at our church, enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, sewing, crocheting, painting as well as genealogy.
I would be happy to transfer memorials for those I am not related to or to transfer to closer relatives. Please let me know how you are related and either use the edit tab at the right hand corner or include findagrave in the subject line so that it is less likely to get lost in my deluge of emails. If you don't hear back in a reasonable time, don't hesitate to try again as things sometimes "disappear" in my inbox.

Can you please add the above (Find A Grave 86429519) to her parents, Flora Palmer Lemmons (92722687). I believe there may be an error on a child listed as Minnie Lemmons Chambers(dod 1919)

Hi Rebecca when I am posting the photos of the grave markers for people I also see if I can find anything about the person.
In this case I located a site which mentioned a William Fiero in New York about the same time as your William. The site has people that are researching these people and I thought you may want to connect with them. Here is the site
There is also a Wiki Tree showing Stephen E Fiero with a brother William Henry Fiero who was born 1 Aug 1805 as a possible here
I hope one of these might assist you.

I was so sad to read your comment! I was visiting Kansas City for vacation and used my phone app to locate small cemeteries that I could hopefully find headstones for people when I found that cemetery. Find A Grave lists 8 memorials but when I got there I found more than 400! It was pouring down rain but I took photos of EVERY headstone, now to find the time to list them all on the website!
I had never been to a Muslim cemetery before but I wasn't scared. Not sure why someone would not want to go there? It is sacred ground no matter what religion and should be treated as such. As long as you are respectful you shouldn't have any problems with caretakers, etc. The front gate for the drive was locked but there was a little gate for the sidewalk that I could go through. Then you had to walk up a long hill and across a field before you got to the burial area. I have photos of the entire to cemetery to post, I will try and do that now so you can see what it looks like. I am so glad I was able to help you!

I am Sylvia Mintz Thomas, Granddaughter of Ruby Poole and Hal Sherry Mintz. I am the genealogist and historian of our family branch, having recently found our long lost Grandfather who died in Maryland during the Civil War. You and I have talked electronically at a previous date. I went to high school with Mark and Ben and grew up near your home at the furnace place.
We had our Mintz Family reunion last weekend and that has spurred me to add and connect our departed family members on Find A Grave. The surviving child of Ruby and Hal and the children of the deceased children of Ruby and Hal asked that I write and ask you for control of their memorials. I would like to tie up loose ends on each of the memorials, making the information fuller and more complete. I know some of the memorials are not under your control, so I am also asking other contributors to transfer their control to me. Many thanks for your work and consideration of my request.
I hope you and I will be able to work together on the Poole Family at some point. I spoke with Ben recently and we all seem to be looking for the grave of our 3G grandfather in Cleveland Co, I took the cousins on a field trip to the graves of Morgan Alexander Poole and Paralee Huze Wellmon Poole this past weekend. Of course, there are at 2, perhaps 3 other generations of grandparents in that small cemetery. The cousins loved it!
Again, thank you for your consideration of the transfer(s). Sylvia

I saw your message to another member about duplicate memorials with different names. THANK YOU!!! I do the same thing. I cannot count the number of times that I have searched (sometimes for a LONG time) for a person under one name, not knowing that there had been a subsequent (or previous) marriage. I think that this is an enormous help to people searching for their family members. Thanks, again, for all that you do for Find A Grave.

All set. You will have to look rather close but you should be able to discern his name.

There is also a tombstone for William Woodman. It is barely intelligible.
I accidentally came upon this site while pursuing another matter entirely.

Taking that into consideration, I guess it is best to keep both Memorials in place. ~Randi~

This is a duplicate of the one I have, do you mind deleting it?
