Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired museum educator/history curator (20 yrs) and then an admin. assistant for 5 yrs. I've been researching my ancestors for over 20 yrs. In 2013 my genealogy skills got an ego boost when I was accepted into the Nat'l Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Family surnames include DeLong, Leonard, Norton, Costello, Ryan, Reglin, Schroeder, Schultz, Klinowski, Kostka and Bogdanowicz. I have been a member of the Troy Irish Genealogy Society (TIGS) and the Capital District Genealogy Society in Albany, NY.I've been vice-president of the all volunteer group, Friends of Oakwood Cemetery (Troy, NY) for 6 years & a member for 16. I love to read, and I also enjoy Birding and help lead Bird Walks and history tours at Oakwood.

Oakwood cemetery
Oliver Boutwell, Find A Grave # 93107458 has some photos and it looks like there is writing on the large monument. Do you have photos of them and the smaller stones in the plot...

RE:Susan Boutelle
She was married to Wm Powers 1842-1908

I have not been able to locate an obit or death date for another family member, Jesse Boutell/Bowtell who was born in Framingham, Ma 6 July 1766 and I believe died in Troy between 1842-1844. He was a resident of Troy in 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840...10 were in the family then. He enlisted 10 Oct 1813 for 5 years, was sick in hospital in Plattsburg 26 July 1814 discharged Sax Harbor. In May of 1820 he lost an arm in discharge of cannon while firing a salute. Only been able to identify 5 offspring, one is Dewitt Clinton Boutelle a somewhat famous Hudson River Valley landscape artist
