I am assuming you want to transcribe the bottom portion of this stone. I took a photo, but it is hard to make out the letters. Is this English?
I hope this helps. Let me know if this is not what you wanted. I could try again sometime, don't know if I could do any better.

I checked at the Hartley City Hall regaurding the Pleasant View Cemetery and they had no record of Joseph there and I also checked with the care taker there and he had no record either, so you may be right and he is burried at the other cemetery I will check with them and see if they have any record it is only about 45 min from my home. It will take me a little bit but will let you know what I find.

Wm and Mary Johnston
Hi Cynthia,
We searched the Montrose, Mo cemetery for the Johnstons and found 4 or 5 of the children's graves, but not William and Mary.
When we checked the cemetery books, we found a notation detailing all of the infant/children's dates (all children of WR and MA Johnston)...and also a notation saying that William and Mary had been moved to St. Louis!
If any of this is of interest to you, I will send you all the information and the pix that we did take. Your family is well known in the community as the owners of the "dog trot" cabin currently in Clinton, Mo!

RE: Carl Wellington Thornburg
Hi Cynthia,
You asked why I left "flower" of Carl's sight. He is not any relation that I have been able to pin point, he just popped up while I was taking a "Virtual walk" and since we had that same last name I had to leave some flowers. Hope you hunt is successful. I havent worked on my Thornburg genealogy in awhile. Have been helping my cousins on my mothers side for the last year or so Richard E. Thornburg is my father (#8202709)All my Thornburg's are in the Ohio/Iowa area so far.

RE: Thomas P Wilson
What a puzzle. I don't have any info about Thomas and Sarah Wilson. Sorry, can't explain it.

RE: Photo of Katie Marshall headstone in Cordova Cemetery
I'm sorry that you cannot see the name in the photo, but I was able to see it...very faintly. The stone is quite weathered. I knew the exact location of the grave, so knew where to look. This cemetery is one of my favorites. It is about 20 miles from where I live, but love to go there. It is a rural, well maintained cemetery.

RE: John Asay
Cynthia,
After further fact checking I discovered that I had Jane and Elwell's marriage date as her death date. John is definitly their son. Elwell married Severina McDowell on April 19,1849 in Rock Island County. Seems Elwell and Jane bought farm they lived on in 1847 in Rock Island County,Illinois.Hope this helps. Did you know Elwell decided to spell his name different that his father and that his real last name is Asa. He is the son of Elijah Asa of Drury township,Illinois.
