Bio and Links
Bio Photo My dad began working on his family tree in the late 1970's after he retired. He did not know much about his father's family as he died when my dad was only nine months old. The first efforts were undertaken by simply writing to those he knew. After I learned how to use the computer and got a genealogy program I began helping him compile all of the information he had collected. At this time I have over 8000 names in my tree. I wish Daddy could have seen all of the pictures of the headstones I have gotten from Find A Grave. He died in 2006 at age 98. I am semi-retired and work in the transportation industry. I am the mother of three, one boy and two girls, and grandmother of two boys.

RE: Koontz headstones
Alexander and Elizabeth Koontz are my maternal GGgrandparents. Their daughter Susan married Benjamin Sanders, who lived in Johnson County also, in 1885 and then they moved to Pine Bluff, Ark. I don't know much about the Koontz family and am still trying to sort out the sometimes contradictory information in various family trees that have been posted to Ancestry.

Re: Walter Northern
I have found him in the database at Maple Hill Cemetery. However his grave is unmarked and the exact location is unknown according to the office. Since there are over 100 acres here there is no way to locate it. Historically he could be anywhere in in sections 1 to 15. Many civil war dead were buried here as well and most are unmarked. Many Yankee soldiers buried here were moved by family members after their interrments here. Good luck on your other searches.

RE: Leo Wiliam Bedford Sr
I read something on the Find A Grave forums today and thought I'd pass it along, since I reported that dupe to you. Sometimes the Find A Grave program "hiccups" and creates 2 identical memorials!

Also, Find A Grave supposedly has a "De-Dupe" program that checks for dupes.
