Tracie Shrader Flack
Hogshead/ McGlamery Connection
Hi Bob!My name is Tracie Shrader Flack. My home is Monroe Co Wv and I am a local genealogist, as well as the President of "The Friends of THE Second Creek,Inc."I found you on Find A while researching the earliest settlers on Second Ck. I came across the name John Hogshead who was deeded land on Peter's Mtn. in 1780. With further digging, I was able to connect him w/ Jane McGlamery. Im sure that you are familiar w/ these persons! Right? anyway, Matthias McGlamery was deeded 153 ac.also on Second Creek. I would like to know what the connection is between John and Matthias McGlamery. I have a cencus record, and found Rev War references on Ancestry and I found an Elizabeth buried at Green Hill in Union.I already researched John and Ann Hogshead, and have Charles(Jane McGlamery) listed as a son.My pupose is to either find someone who has a bio already written on the families OR to be able to put together enough info to write one myself. Our group worked for approx. 10 years making the Gap Mills Valley a Rural Historical District and my little project will add to the story of the history. If you would, contact me and we see if we can put something togther......Facts on web are few and far between, but I'm getting a picture! My ph# is 304-661-1915 or email me.....thanks and Merry Christmas! Tracie

RE: Thanks for your great photos
You are very welcome, Bob. It was a lovely day to go for a walk. :-)

Also while I was there, I took photos of the graves for "Alma V., wife of H.B. Heath" and for "Infant, son of H.B. and Alma V. Heath." There was no indication of a date on the latter.

I posted the one for Alma on an existing memorial but don't know what to do with the photo for "Infant"--though I did notify the person who manages the memorials for all the Heaths.

On a final note, there is a small broken stone laying down between Alma and "Infant," but I could not read anything on it.

Please let me know if I can be of any more help. I apologize if I have now given you more questions than answers!

Best wishes to you.

RE: Hogshead thank you
Your welcome. That was my husband and dau. I was behind the camera. But it was fun seeing them take an interest in their heritage. I'm just sorry I didnt think to see what requests there were for other photos before we went.

RE: Correction Earl Hunter
Your assistance & updates appreciated. Keep the records (don't transfer to me) as you are closer (for easier visit/reference) and I am in Oregon. Thanks.

Correction Earl Hunter
My mistake.
There is only one Earl Hunter born 23 Oct. 1881 (your entry: Find A Grave #70649773), husband of Cecil J. Hoglan.
Sarah A. Thompson (born Apr. 1820) was the mother of Joseph Mel Hunter (born 29 Oct. 1859) , Earl's father.
Regret confusion.

Records Update
Your info & updates are welcomed.
To add to your info:
Earl Hunter middle name: Nicholas; birth = 23 October 1881 in Center Point, Linn Co., Iowa; died = 02 June 1940.
Earl's wife: Cecil J. Hoglan middle name: Jane.
Earl's mother: Sarah A. Thompson (Find A Grave #: 75518111)(recommend make connection). Earl's father & Sarah's husband (Joseph Hunter, born 08 March 1816, not in Find A Grave but supposedly buried in same cemetery as wife, Sarah A. Thompson).
Earl's siblings (recommend make connections):
(1) Blanche B. Hunter (Find A Grave #: 26804586)
(2) Elmer Joseph Hunter (Find A Grave #: 85430897)
For Earl's birth date (questioned 1858 or 1859): he died on 14 January 1944 and his age at death is noted at 85 years, two months and 17 days = 28 October 1858 (when calculated), instead of 29 October 1859.
Earl's mother: Mary Ellen Morris died 16 December 1930, your inscription note states "1944" (also, photo shows 1930).
Also, for Mary Ellen Morris (recommend make connections):
Father Joseph C. Morris (Find A Grave #: 44647605) + my 3rd great grandfather, and
Mother Lydia Hulsart (Find A Grave #: 44547711) + my 3rd great grandmother.
Thanks - Chuck
