Rebekah Wenke Witte
Hi CJ,

I'm writing to ask about this memorial for Rebekah Wenke Witte.

I see you have her linked as being the daughter of this Johann Wenke, who is buried at Dodge Co, NE.

Rebekah is my g-g-g-aunt. I know from family history that she is the sister of this Dietrich Wenke.

I have the ship manifest that shows the Dietrich Wenke family and Rebecca Witte family immigrating together (shows all names of spouses and kids so I know they are the right ones).

Their parents were a couple named Hermann and Ahlke Margarethe (Vahle) Wenke. They both died in Germany.

Further proof is that Dietrich was born in March 1851. The Anna Wenke Windhusen buried in Hooper Cemetery was born in August 1851.

Thanks for all your help and the photo of Rebecca's gravesite!

Hi :) Just noticed that you have the same photo twice on a memorial for Peace E Maker at Crownland Cemetery. I've had it happen to me when the site would reload. Just thought I'd let you know so that you could remove one of them :) Memorial # 53999067

RE: Witte marker
Hee, hee! Remember how I told you I will take photos of others by the same name if I happen on to them? Well, I had photos of these two with the other ones I uploaded, but forgot to create memorials for them. So I didn't make another trip yet! Thus I don't have the third one you requested. Maybe you will figure out more that might be buried there before I go next time. And then I will take a picture of the church by the cemetery for the cemetery photo, as I don't believe there were really any gates or anything. I did three cemeteries that day, all with similar names, so hard to remember what is what. (see, I was thinking there was already a photo for this one, but that was because we had 'em in the other St. John's at first.)

RE: Witte marker
I just finished photographing the last two sections of the cemetery, but I haven't had time to look at them or put them up yet. As soon as I get the chance I'll look at them and let you know if there are any other Witte's in there.

Petit Cemetery
I am photo documenting the remaining monuments at Petit Cemetery, Mifflin Township, Richland County, Ohio. In addition to your Petit photo requests, photos for additional family members will also be included on their memorials.

Words cannot express my gratitude for you taking these pictures for me. I've only been with Find A Grave a couple months and have taken some photos for others, but this was my first request and now I truly "get it" as far as how it makes others feel when their requests are fulfilled. You have given me a gift and I am thankful for that.

Hi, posted one Mary A. Egolf monument photo for you, as I wanted to get credit for at least one, lol. Then I've just e-mailed you the others. Take care and good luck!

RE: Romseyer, Sievers, Plattner
Well I'm glad I could help! I must say I was surprised by the spelling myself! The headstones were all in the same area. I was surprised that the Romseyer's had no dates on them.
