|I found Find A Grave on a fluke while trying to find any connection to a deceased friend that lives across the country. A contributor in Idaho made it possible for me to "visit" my friend's grave all the way here in Michigan. After that I got to thinking about that fact that there was a cemetery here in town and I felt like it was almost a duty to pay back that visit by helping others view the grave sites of their loved ones. Now I'm helping the township update their records while I update Find A Grave. And I've even learned a lot about my town along the way, including the fact we actually have 2 cemeteries and after living here for the last 30+ years I didn't even know that. |
Update: Due to a disagreement with a fellow contributor, and Find A Grave not returning my emails, I've started using placeholder photos on my memorials. If you would like to add a photo and can't because of these placeholder photos, simply drop me an email with the photo so that I can see it and information about what memorial it's for, then I'll open up a spot for you or if you'd rather I'll add it myself and give you credit for it in the comments. Sorry for the inconvenience. Some people just have to ruin it for the rest of us, apparently.

|Sue Seeterlin Rice||Elsie Leona Bamber Weaver|
If Elsie is a relative please let me know. I just recently came upon a photo of her with?parents taken when she was an infant. I would like to post it. I have also asked for a link to them.
Elsie's mother is my relation. The photo was found among other things, untouched, for many years.

You have placeholder(no Photos)filling the page of Raymond F. Baka, buried in Highland, MI. I cannot post the photo information of the Congressional Gold Medal, he and his brothers of the First Special Service Force WWII, received on Feb. 3. Please unblock a space for this information. An email has also been sent.

I found evidence that you are correct in where Olive Gue Hill is buried, so I changed it. See: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/oakland/cemeteries/h24502.txt
I also found who her husband was. She was married and divorced from George Hills, 1835-1897.
They had two sons: Hiram A Hills, 1857-1892; and Howard L Hills 1861-1940.
Thank you for your suggestion! I really appreciate it.

|DJ Noble||Olive Gue Hill|
Thank you for your message. I will do some more research and see if I can figure out where Olive is buried.
Her death certificate, at seekingmichigan.org says burial took place at Highland Cemetery, but they may not have been specific.
Many of her Gue family are buried in West Highland Cemetery, but there are Hills buried in both Cemeteries.
If I could figure out who her husband is, I could probably figure out where Olive is truly buried.
